Thats exactly what I'm refering to. It was apparently difficult for Capcom to renew the liscense because Marvel wanted to make it as hard and expensive as possible, so that everyone would stop selling their Marvel games instead, so that Marvel would replace these with new (crappy) Marvel games they made themselves. And thats what happened. All Marvel games, including X-Men Children of the Atom, etc, were eventually taken down.
They changed management over the last year or so, and the new management expressed interest in collaborating with other studios in making Marvel games again.

Ultimately, licensing deals often end after a few years.

We can speculate why, but having a Marvel deal probably isnt worthwhile unless new products or remasters are coming.
