It was apparently difficult for Capcom to renew the liscense because Marvel wanted to make it as hard and expensive as possible, so that everyone would stop selling their Marvel games instead, so that Marvel would replace these with new (crappy) Marvel games they made themselves. And thats what happened. All Marvel games, including X-Men Children of the Atom, etc, were eventually taken down. |
I think it may also have to do with Disney existing the game developing/publishing market, so they are now more willing to let other companies use their properties.
