That looks really fun to me. And I can only imagine the things you can do further into the game.
Also, if you guys haven't checked the extended cut of the 101 trailer, it's highly recommended to check it out here: http://gamrconnect.vgchartz.com/thread.php?id=222827&page=1

Wait...I had not seen this "101 trailer" before. I wonder if that is footage from normal ps4 or ps4 pro, it looks really good and fun.

The first time i got excited for this game was in 2007 (I even wanted to get a PS3 for it even though it was insanely expensive  thankfully my mom did not accept to buy it...), then I kinda forgot about the game like in 2009 and then got excited for it again when it was re-named to Final Fantasy XV in 2013. Even though they changed and removed things from the original Versus XIII, I remained hyped and positive about it up until now.

I don't think that will happen. There is absolutely nothing yet that looks convincing in any way to me.
As a big fan of the old FFs (up until 9, without 8) this game does absolutely nothing to me.
I saw the following picture yesterday on GAF:

It shows everything that is wrong to me. The setting, the art style break that happens many times in this picture, the ugly character design... Just no.

It's FF so i'm sold on it but every time I see the combat it makes me shake my head and that's the part that hasn't fully sold me yet but I will be buying it and giving it a chance to show me I am wrong about the combat.

...had yet to happen. There has been some really cool trailers on it, but so far I have more issues with it than positives that catch my interest. That and SE's activity since FF13 has really made me become cautious of the company.

I'm sure the game will still deliver though.

The moment they called the game Final Fantasy sold it to me. Too bad they didn't do anything with the game to sell it even more.

I don't want to be a Debbie downer but there have been dozens of moments that turned me OFF to the game :(

But I hope I'm wrong and the game turns out to be amazing!

I've nevee been one to question why anyone likes or doesmt like a game (since i feel its subjective) but I've always been puzzled by the people that say things to suggest that FF15 will be bad.

We don't know about the story which is usually the most important facets of any FF game.

All the exposure anyone has got from it thus far are from demos and how much each demo changed from the last drives the point home that the game is still in development.

There are a great number of series firsts in the game which should at the very least make any FF fan interested in it. From how the weapons work, the summons (I mean come on, now these summons looks and feel like godlike all powerful creatures), a car, day and night cycle, how levelling up works....

the gameplay looks to be on point and seems to have a lot of depth down to making a small mini game from something as simple as spells.

This is the first (well second cause 12 also was kinda) true open world FF game.

TThere is just a depth of new takes on the RPG formula that could like FF did before, change how RPGs are designed going forward.

I simply can't understand how any FF fan can't be excited for this game. It's bold and it's different as every good FF game should be. Now if we are talking about people that habent really ever played a FF game, or those super nostalgic types that don't really hate the game for what it is but ratehr for what it isn't (our turn based dolks: though in truth this game even has a mode for them) that I could kinda understand.

A good story can't save a bad game.

The only thing that looks interesting about FFXV to me is the graphics. It looks beautiful.

The combat system seems dull and unengaging, the character design unattractive, the entire production appearing to prioritize spectacle and visual fidelity over gameplay. I can't reward a game just for being different or for belonging to a legendary brand. That's not how it works.

I'm not blinded by nostalgia or intent on degrading a popular series, as some conspiracy theories would suggest. I just don't like what I see.

I'm still not completely sold on the game. I think I will get it, but there are things that knda turn me off..

Nothing really but still asked for the DX edition for Xmas because I'm a sucker for open world RPGs. XCX is my fave game this gen and need more. My PS4 is dusty and needs some attention so sure I will play it. Demo's not enjoyed very much but I somehow put in 281 hours in Dragon Age Inquisition despite it being a terrible game. I think I can find enjoyment in it even if don't think the game play is very good from the 3 demos I played. I am weird I have played some games to completion I hated. I have my reasons but anyway what sold me is um..yeah I just want something to play on PS4 that somewhat fills that thirst for a open world RPG on PS4. XCX on Wii U I love so much I have 800 hours in it. Playing FFXV hasn't been very good in the demo's to me. Combat is awful to me honestly. Traversing the world feels like a chore and slow. Car is mainly on rails. Game seems more concerned with animations and set pieces and specticale than anything substancial and it concerns me.

It's pretty easy to not like this game, especially for FF fans. I expect it to be critically acclaimed because it appeals to everyone except FF fans.

Let me tell you the things that irk me, that no amount of story or gameplay can make up for.

- fixed 4man cast. Even in the very first FF you were able to pick different characters and every subsequent FF gave you a colorful choice that you can stuff your party with. Now you get 4 boring pretty boys broing it up.

- action gameplay. If I wanted to need skill for a game I wouldn't play FF. Round based or bust.

- boring world, boring car, boring premise. There is nothing that would make me want to explore it.

It will be FFVI and FFVII all over again. Critically acclaimed, loved by non-FF fans and still in my bottom 5 of best FF games.

Exactly, it's not going to be rated as a bad game, we all know this. Just isn't what many want from the franchise. Saying because it has FF stamped on it means we should like it is like saying Halo fans should like Halo Wars just because it's 'Halo' ignoring the fact it's an RTS.

On topic, still waiting. I expect it to be a good game, just not as interested in it anymore. I liked the idea of a KH style spin-off from 13 when we first saw it. It's now a main series title and well, I've lost interest in the 10 years of development. I'll probably get it one day, used for £20.

Hmm, pie.

The 2006 E3 reveal got me in the hype train.

Kingsglaive and the anime.

In short, the story. I am still not the greatest fan of the combat system, but i want to experience the rest of the story. I think they set it up extremely well. Just fingers crossed it's not a disappointment.
