Redesigned console relaunched at a cheaper price. Coinciding with two of MS biggest games for the year also being released. Fire sale of older model sku at an even more reduced price. PS4 sales cannibalization by the PS4pro.

That's pretty much it. Let's see what happens in November. and then December.

Where's the games?? Holiday lineup looks like nothing. 

All ive seen from them are delays. 

I wonder if It's the 4K upscaling, looks better than 1080p native. The same reason I think the media constantly telling people PS4 is more powerful, now people think Xbox One S is more powerful than the original PS4.

I'm going to take personal credit for Xbox' ascendency. 

I think there's some legitimacy in Slade's point. As someone who's been squarely in the PS camp all generation, I feel that Microsoft has lept ahead in the last three months.

Good marketing, I imagine. It's how the PS4 got to where it is today.

To outsell ps4, xbox one really needs to start selling more to outsell ps4. The leaked numbers we get here and there suggests lets say UK+Germany is ps4>xbox one last months and US+Japan is ps4 like 30-50k more in a month over xbox one past 4 months. And xbox one doesnt sell that well in most markets with few exeptions like Mexico, Brazil and Australia.

I dont think Sony is even concerned that xbox one outsell them 2 months in UK with around 22k while having fifa 17 bundles and a lot of deals + their two biggest game launches. Sony had Pro eating some sales which took mostly those sales back. In US market for 4 months someone already mentioned why xbox one outsold ps4.

Its good for xbox one that its doing a lot better than it did and ofcourse adding those extra features helped to boost sales, but you are dreaming if you think xbox one will win any month worldwide.

Wait.... did the PS4s just stop to exist?

Look at it this way, if in october MS sold 250k XB1s and sony sold 200k PS4s, whst that tells you is that right now there are still 200k people willing to buy the cheaper PS4 while however many are waiting to buy the PS4pro.

So now in November you will still have all those that would typically have gone for a $300 console (yes, the PS4s is also $300) in addition to those that want to buy a $400 PS4pro.

Still think XB1s is gonna win November and December? 

Its just a better value.

The initial reaction to all of the anti-consumer news of launch XBO (and how Sony wisely dropped all that before announcements) has gone away and people have forgotten.

They carry the same library as far as anyone really cares. Neither have exclusives worth a shit this gen with exception to a rare few groups.

XBO-S is a good system. It delivers on the normal "slim" concept well plus adds really good marketable feature in the 4K department.

All at a price that is less than last year and on par with PS4's core and slim models

Lastly, PS4 Pro is just pushing power for more $$ and it is barely launching. It'll be interesting to see if MS can market their 4K against Pro in such a way that forces Sony to match price (thus losing profit) or Sony can drive up how much better games can be visually, which will be harder than marketing buzz words such as 4K. All people will see is the 4K stamp and think they are basically the same but XBO-S is cheaper.
