Forums - Gaming - Bioware Says Mass Effect Andromeda Won’t Be Coming To Nintendo Switch

Many of the people commenting that they're not suprised might be forgetting that this exists:

That's the last Mass Effect game on the NS's predecessor. The big question is, if this system is supposed to have more third party support than the WIi U, why is the WIi U have game series that the NS will not get? It's not like this was a gimped port that came years after the PS3/X360 release. It was released just a few months after the PS3/X360 versions did when the Wii U launched.  This was a title used by EA to indicate their support. Now the NS isn't getting the same treatment? This game could be a launch game for the NS.

This doesn't bode well for anyone that thinks the NS is close in power to the X1, nor does it bode well for anyone expecting better third party support this time around.

I don't expect Andromeda to come to Switch, nor do I mind. I own a PS4 and XOne; I'm covered. I want Switch to support Nintendo games, "indies" like Runbow and Shovel Knight, and Japanese titles like Virtue's Last Reward, Etrian Odyssey, etc.

If they do that nintendo fails.

How do you figure that? 3DS did fine with just that

Third party support of any kind for Nintendo products has a big problem.
The average owner of any console is going to buy approximately ten games during one generation (~5 years).
For a Nintendo console there is a VERY big chance most people will buy:
2D Mario platformer, 3D Mario platformer, Mario Kart, Pokémon, Super Smash Bros, Zelda, Animal Crossing, Splatoon. That is already eight games.

Switch most probably also gets FIFA, CoD and Skylanders/Lego/Just Dance that could sell good numbers.
Other third party games will have a hard time getting big sales on a Nintendo console.

"As if ME is still relevant" "not my problem, screw EA"

....yeah... this is how it begins.

Some ppl just never learn. It's always better to have more 3rd party than to have less.

Unless NX can produce a game that has massive general appeal like wii sports, they should/must have more 3rd party support

Ten seems like a pretty low number to me tbh.

He didn't say Scorpio either :P

Well Scorpio doesn`t release until like Q4 or something and MEA is due in Q1, so that would be harder. Besides, I`m not sure why he said Neo as is... WTF is a Neo? Does he mean the PS4 Pro? But I guess that means it`s got extra pixels or something like that there rather than just being the regular version.

That seems weird to me. Does he really think the PS4Pro is still called the PS4Neo?

This is huge problem. The Switch gpu is based on Nvidia Pascal, the same as my GTX 1080. In theory, the jump in tech from the PS4 and Xbox AMD gpu's should make the Switch more powerful than both (PS4 and xbox are essentially the same). We know its the next generation Tegra, but still, its on pascal dye...... It HAS to be equivalent or better then the 3 year old consoles right? RIGHT NINTENDO? Nvidia?

So now we know Adromeda is not coming to the switch, even though its release date is in the Switch Launch window.... This only makes sense if the Switch can't run it, and that makes me sad.

This is the first major red flag for me. I am concerned.

3DS does fine because its a handheld and little kids don't care about third party support.

Even if it was coming to the Switch, they couldn't say anything. I'm sure the reason, if it was, is that Nintendo said no more info about it till next year.

Sorry! Should have posted the link. I thought it was quite common knowledge for people visiting VGChartz.
