This guy's not going to be well liked.

First, he's trying to he's trying blame Sega's decline on the notion that in 2006, they went into creative decline because they could sell bad games on the Wii. The reality: Sega has been known as a company in financial and creative decline decline from 1996.

Second, he's shitting all over his own development staff. Including the team that did Sonic Colours, and implying that Sonic Heroes and Sonic 06 were better games.

Panzer Dragoon Saga, Crazy Taxi, Jet Set Radio, Shenmue, Skies of Arcadia, Super Monkey Ball, Yakuza, Total War, Valkyria Chronicles, among plenty others...

Not a sign of creative decline. Also, he's generalising. That doesn't mean he's saying everything they released on the Wii was garbage.

Seriously, your comments at times... -____-

Yeah Sega didn't decline until the Dreamcast died. They had solid studios up until then.

I LOVE ICELAND!

I must be a dirty filthy casual because I prefer the low-quality library the Wii had than the awesome HD quality of the WiiU.

Weird that I had fun playing that SD content.

Pretty sure Shadow The Hedgehog and Sonic '06 came out before the Wii was even released...

You know I was always wondering why no one ever used the dollar sign for $ony, but then I realized they have no money so it would be pointless.

Oh, wow, you're right! The earliest copy of Sonic 06 was the 360 one on november 14th in NA, while the earliest Wii release was November 19th!

You know it deserves the GOTY.

The Wii had a lot of shovelware

Good to know that SEGA is finally admitting it?

The fact that Secret Rings sold 2 million is mind-boggling to me, that game is absolute shit.

The fact that Nights didnt even make 1/4 of those sales is also mind-boggling.

Though Sega took a lot of chances on the Wii U, they also whored out Sonic a bit too heavily with lackluster games. There were 9 sonic games releases on the Wii U. And that is not including the racing/fighting/tennis games he was also included in.

And now we might never get another Nights game. What a shame. :/

It's not a good thing.  And it's not a good thing that people bought these poor effort games either.  But as he said that market is gone and games need more quality now.  Which is all that matters.

Well the reality Sega still makes money on low quality titles, they are on mobile.

But hey, Sega is a  business. I dont care if they make money on crap, I just hope they make content for savvy consumers as well.

Yeah I'm glad that market moved from comsole to mobile.  Hopefully there mew console stuff is good.

the problem wasn't the Wii or the casual market at the time, the problem is and has always been Sega. If otherwise were true then they would have released SOME good games in the last 10 years from their main studios.

The only people releasing good games for Sega are Creative Assembly and Atlus

Well.. there were actually a few good things from Sega on the Wii, like Sonic Colors, Mad World, Virtua Tennis 2009, The Conduit 2.....
It´s not that all their software was bad, but as many publishers (Nintendo included) they thought that the sucess of motion controls was an excuse to launch shovelware

Please Sega, you were starting to go downhill already in the 6th generation.

If we're being honest.
