What presedent? The Scorpion reveal wasn't a leak. There wasn't any leak in association with the PS4 Pro reveal.

Rumors, perhaps. But they will be unreliable. But a leak? No way. I don't think Sony wants to reveal the next generation in at least a few years at least due to PS4 success.

I think we'll start hearing things in 2018. It's possible in late 2017, but more realistically, we'll hear something in early-mid 2018. I'm guessing we'll have a console 2.5x+ as powerful as the Pro. This should be the first console capable of current PS4 graphics at native 4K, though, I expect many devs may choose to take advantage of Sony's checkerboard tech to be able to ramp up the graphics to 11.

No, or at least I would hope so. That would suck honestly. Only after a year of the pro being launched? That would kinda seem like a kick in the head for people who bought a Pro, or even traded in their regular PS4 for a Pro. Plus that would make the 8th gen seem kinda lame.

Maybe Sony will announce the PS5 a year and a half before it's supposed release date just to let developers know about it(because announcing it publicly is the only way to do this of course) just to throw off the edge on the Scorpio. They won't reveal anything other than a codename and a Teraflop figure too :P
