Forums - Nintendo - What benefit does keeping the NX a secret still have?

One of the reasons people are focused so much on the NX is that Nintendo really isn't giving us much to focus on in the Wii U department. Regardless of what you think of Paper Mario Color Splash, unless I've missed something (and please, by all means, let me know if I have), that's it from Nintendo for the Wii U until Zelda BOTW in March, 2017; and after that, that may be it for the Wii U period. At least the 3DS is still getting support, but if Nintendo is supposedly focused on NX, that's what others are going to want to focus on.

They want us to go insane, honestly.

Even with the 3DS, you could make an argument it's getting a weak support from Nintendo's part too, although not as bad as the WiiU's. Most of the 3DS games coming this year and the next are 3rd party games, Nintendo's projects seem more like either experimental things they couldn't finish in time and/or left aside to focus on other things (Ever Oasis), ports of older games (Yoshi's Wolly World, Mario Maker 3DS), or things to fill up the schedule (Pikmin 3DS, Mario Party Star Rush). The last really big game for the 3DS is Pokemon Sun/Moon. Right now, the 3rd partie's offerngs looks more interesting that Nintendo's (SMTIV-2, DQVIII, Youkai Watch 2...), and that is really weird.

You know it deserves the GOTY.

"the NX wont have any graphical improvements over the Wii U,"

Nintendo NEVER said that. they said that, regarding Zelda on WiiU and NX, "the experience will be similar"

People took that as a statement that the NX version will have the same graphics. They NEVER said that. Now I'm not saying it's not the case, I don't know. But Nintendo never said it.

Honestly, if the Wii U was getting the kind of support the 3DS is getting from what you've posted (Nintendo or 3rd party), I'd be perfectly happy.

Sony is the one who reintroduced (they were used on the Atari 5200 and Vectrex) analog sticks as we know them today, as well as the dual stick EVERYONE uses now.  No one copied the tech used in the N64 controller, not even Nintendo.  Sony was also the one who reintroduced motion controls (again something that dates back to the Atari) back on the PS2, including developing, though never releasing, a controller the Eyetoy could track. Now, I will concede that the success of the Wii is what prompted them to actually continue developing and release the Move. Oh, and here's the Vectrex controller, a system that launched 8 months before the NES.

Look familiar? No? Replace the 1 with Select and the 2 with Start, then add a Dpad where the analog stick is. Uh oh? Nintendo copies confirmed. See, anyone can play that game.

You know the Famicom came out a year before the NES, right?

Yes. I said NES, but the 8 month difference I gave is when it's counterpart came out in Japan.

None that I can think of, but there must be a reason or else Nintendo would have already..

[3DS] Winter Playtimes [Wii U]

If i remember correctly, nintendo hosted spaceworld on november months.
I am expecting spaceworld to come back in all his glory.

I have a degree in marketing and i believe nintendo is taking the right steps and making the right choices.
I mean this is nintendo, and no one (here) knows about their corporative objectives.

What if they decided to enter stand by mode with wiiu; they get a lot of money with the wii.

Obviously one of those objetives is money, but with old generations aging and this new generations knowing nothing about nintendo actions need to be made.

If i were nintendo and with my bank account rebosing in cash, my priorities wont be money,, but brand awareness, top of mind, and brand value.

To acomplish that objetives, i will need an excellent unveiling of the NX.
They already did some changes that i aprove, like the return to RED color.
And the relaunch of their rewards program.
And the mobile strategies (with mario run not pokemon go)

Then i will select the 2nd week of november. Maybe the 8th. For the media and the core fans.
Then i will unveil it in the thanksgiving football night for the north america audience.

Sorry i projected myself. LOL

Point is that today you relly dont need more than around 6 monts to revile your console before launch , XB1 was revealed 6 monts before launch, PS4 Pro only 2 monts before launch, today companies want shorter time before revile and launch of product, it has much better effect, you can easily mantine hype and interest from revile to launch.

Wii U was revield one year before launch, and had teribile revile, first impresion and marketing, with NX they dont need to revile it too soon and they already said they have new "concept" and "new way of playing", so from that side they also want to predict NX, very strong NX NDA (sources saying NDA is stronger than ever before) proves that. Curently is all about right timint of revile, I am sure NX will be revile sometime in next 4-5 weeks.

How can a NDA be stronger than another. That kind of makes no sense.

Totally make sense, for instance NX NDA is incomparable stronger than Wii U NDA was.

Wow.. alot of bitter people in this thread... 95% of them have their special machine that can do no wrong.
that's why they have it so easy backtalking the competition.

No wonder I've comming less and less on this site..
