Buying a physical copy of a game is still faster to download than digital so I don't understand what your getting at. The download would take even longer if you bought it as a digital title.

Halo 5 has had amazing post launch support. Each month they've added new content to the game for free, and they still are. A new update is releasing tomorrow actually with new maps, modes, weapons, skins, features, etc. So yeah, it does suck you have to download a 41GB update, but would you rather spend money on each DLC released or wait awhile to download the full game? I would pick the later.

I also advise to buy an external harddrive. It's nice not having to worry about storage. My 5TB harddrive cost $120, not a bad price. Plus it can be used for a number of other devices as well.

Btw this isn't just an Xbox One issue. PS4 and PC have to download huge updates as well. Some larger than others. MS just has really done a great job with most of their 1st party games as far as post-content support goes, Halo in particular.

What I mean is this... The witcher 3 was a 35 GB download for the Full Game... (for PC). Now, If I buy a physical copy its because I dont want to wait for the download, and as the PS4, it should ask you if you want to download or if you want to play it as it is, as I wanted today. So I wonder, I am downloading a totally new game from scratch? Or was the original game full of glitches and errors that it had to have a 41 GB update (I know itll have new things and stuff). If only I could see the total amount of data in the blu ray... I bet its less than 41 GB... totally nonsense IMO

Every game on both the Xbox one and Ps4 require the game to be installed, even if you buy the disc version. I own the disc version of Witcher 3, and it requires to be installed, plus every update since release. As for Halo 5, 46.2GB was on the disc itself. There was a 9GB day 1 patch. So day 1 the game was a 54.8GB. Since then there has been a steady stream of updates ranging from 2-6 GB each month. It adds up.

I found pretty much the same. Only have a handful of games but can't have much installed as summer games are knocking on 80gb once they're updated. Don't have the internet problem, but really dislike the fact it can take an hour to install a game off a disc.

Not gonna lie, really enjoyed it once I got going though.

Street Fighter V had at least 20GB from what I remember.

This is one of the best examples because it was released as an incomplete game. I hear No Man's Sky has problems without the day one patch as well.

Anywho, you're generally playing inferior products if you don't have access to updates on either X1 or PS4. Its really hurting the value of physical copies.

No it's a better example of Capcom's terrible content delivery system. When there is a major update for SFV, you essentially have to download the entire game plus the additional content -_-

Sony doesn't have an issue with this because they installed some chip that lets you play games very quickly (at least some of the game and only single player. While your playing the rest of the game is installed. MS didn't install this feature which is what is causing the issue for them. I wonder if they added this feature to the new scorpio. If MS is smart they did.

I only buy physical games , I love seeing my games collection. And will always be that way for me

It's worth it for me. It would take me days to download a game, instead of the minutes/hour that it takes with the disc. Granted, I don't have an Xbox One, but considering that my PS4 can take a day to download 8 GBs of data, it would be a nightmare to try to download a 50GB game.

I would check your connection to make sure it's all working; my PS4 downloads 8GB in about 20 minutes.

Buying physical games in general don't make sense. The effort of changing disks all the time, worrying about scratching them, wearing out the laser and storing the game on your shelves plus you still have to download half the games anyway since 99% of them require day one patches.
Digital is simple, download it and its there when you want it all the time. Cant be stolen, damaged or requires you to put the disk in the machine.

But with physical, you can either sell the game when you're finished, or trade it to somebody, for another game that you want to play. If the game sucks, you're not stuck with a $60 piece of garbage. The effort of walking 10 feet to my tv, isn't too much for me or most others to handle. It's not like i'm changing discs 10 times a day, or anything like that. You don't have to worry about scratching blu-rays, they're not like the old discs were in the past. You really have to try and screw up a disc on purpose, for it to not work. I've honestly never had a laser wear out either, but then again, i usually flip my console for a newer model, about 5 years into the generation.

Ok, I am not a follower from M$ clearly... but Ive tried, and Ive tried hard...

I never liked Halo, even tho, i was good at its multiplayer, so one day, at work, like 1 year ago, I had this copy of Halo 1 for PC. So I had nothing better to do, so started playing the story mode. I even payed it with the touchpad, because i had no mouse on my office. And for my surprise, I really enjoyed the story, the music, even goddamn masterchief. So I decided to go in a rampage buying a Xone as the first M$ Console that I ever had. And so I did. I even tought it was a good idea since I could play RotTR before (I have ps4, ps3, ps2, and even an old ps1) in the Xone.

Everything was OK until I put the MCC blu ray disc... It took ages for me to start to play since I had a 2 Mb Connection... But I took the waiting like a champ, so I could get to play again that awesome game remastered and in a goddamn big screen (60" instead of 14" from my work's laptop). But oh was I in for a ride... Every goddamn game that I buy, physical of course, have to download and install a hugeeeee amount of I dont know what data... Today I finished Halo 4 and make the mistake of wanting to play Halo 5 right away... Ohhhh dear, was I wrong... 41 Effing GB to update.!!!!! WTF is this? are you kidding me Microsoft? whats the point on selling Physical games at all?? Why do I need to buy a goddamn charger instead of being included?? why every goddamn time that I quit from the missions, the effing Xbone would ask if I want gold?????

5 Games and my storage is at 75%!!!!! only 2 of them are digital and were included in the bundle, otherwise I would have get them physical, but there would be no point at all since maybe Physical would require another huge amout of download data just for the game to actually start!!!!

I would never ever buy another M$ console ever forever and ever.

Well after all this rant... what do you guys think??

Are you feeling about your PS4 the same way? You can also fill up 75% of the 500GB-HDD of a PS4 with 5 games, it's not a big difference:

Upgrading HDD memory is both easier AND cheaper for the Xbox One... just connect an external 3.5-HDD, which has a much better GB/$ ratio than a thin 2.5-HDD and it also allows bigger capacities.

And I can see some very big PS4-patches on the horizon due to the PS4 Pro, even for owners of the normal PS4.

Buying physical games in general don't make sense. The effort of changing disks all the time, - You've gotten lazy.

worrying about scratching them, - I got 20+ year old disc games and music, all fine.

wearing out the laser, - Still have all my disc consoles working fine. I maintain them.

storing the game on your shelves - If you have the space, what's the problem? Lazy?

plus you still have to download half the games - So downloading everything, is better?

anyway since 99% of them require day one patches. - Better question. Why doesn't MS and Sony allow us to backup the patches? Then that would never matter. I'd just restore the patches, from a hdd, disc, sd of mine. If I needed to.

Digital is simple, - Put in drive, install, download patch. Simple.

download it and its there when you want it all the time. - My physical games are there when I want them.

Cant be stolen, - Hacking your account would make it stolen too. Just like the low odds of people breaking into your house.
