Before the turn of the Millennium, before Halo or Call of Duty, before Battlefield, Killzone, or Crysis, the FPS genre was a very different beast to what it is today.

Of the FPS games released prior to the year 2000, which is the best in your opinion, and why?

Half-life, a true cinematic experience.

Half Life. No question for me. It completely blew my mind at the time.

I didn't touch a console after that came out until the PS2.

Half-Life. I've had more, even much more, fun with other FPS games from the era, but Half-Life was so much more, and I can appreciate it.

World War I.

My bet with The_Liquid_Laser: I think the Switch won't surpass the PS2 as the best selling system of all time. If it does, I'll play a game of a list that The_Liquid_Laser will provide, I will have to play it for 50 hours or complete it, whatever comes first.
