I'm only listing the top  20 here:

20. Zork
19. Space Invaders
18. Rise of the Tomb Raider
17. Half-Life 2
16. Grand Theft Auto III
15. Counter-Strike
14. Quake
13. SimCity 2000
12. Final Fantasy VI
11. Sid Meier's Civilization IV
10. World of Warcraft
9. The Oregon Trail
8. Super Mario Bros
7. The Legend of Zelda
6. Minecraft
5. Ms. Pac Man
4. Doom
3. Ocarina of Time
2. Super Mario 64
1. Tetris

Oh boy, what a list. There are some things I disagree with. 
1. No Metroid game.
2. The original Castlevania game over most other Castlevania games! Seriously, I don't get this pick. 
3. The original Smash over Melee or 4.
4. CoD2 over CoD4
5. Pong? It's an important game, but it's not top 50 material.
6. Super Mario Kart over Double Dash, DS or 8.
7. FFVII over FFIV or FFIX. 
8. Microsoft FIght Simulator X at 23? Wasn't aware the game was that good!
9. Space Invaders was another important game, but it's not top 20 material.
10. Super Mario Bros over Super Mario Bros 3, Super Mario World, Super Mario Galaxy, Super Mario Galaxy 2 or Super Mario 3D World.
11. The original Zelda over A Link to the Past, Majora's Mask, Wind Waker or SKyward Sword.
12. Ms. Pac Man and Tetris  don't deserve to be in the top 5.
13. Ocarina of Time is worthy of the top 50, but it's a tad bit high.
14. No Mario role-playing game
15. No Mega Man game
16. No Sonic game
17. Almost no JRPGs in general

It seems they did a lot more of "influential" type games instead of games of higher quality. Don't really agree with the list on many things.

I think it'd certainly make more sense compared to a Top 50 Games List, especially considering some of the choices, and lack there of

The only piece of this list I agree with is that FFVI is ahead of FFVII. Otherwise, just looks like a list put together by someone who played a game or two and decided they knew it all.
