GB depends really, if you are counting GB and GBC together, then it has to get to 118 million,... That's a bit too far away for me to predict, maybe late 2011. DS I doubt it will pass unless a sequel handheld is introduced before 2010.

So your saying it will pass GB in late 2011. I'll just say you mean Nov. 2011 to make it an even 5 years since launch.

That would mean selling a ridiculous 23.6 Million consoles/year on average. Something it hasn't reached in 1 year and about 4 months.

 

As I said earlier it won't pass GB, will pass GBA, and will pass PSP.

 Well who says the wii won't sell after 5 years, but I agree it won't reach this goal by 2011. Also you still didn't mention ds.

 Um it says all. I don't know I barely use the chartz to compare.

^So are Wii sales set in stone after it's first year? it is entirely possible that the Wii will follow a similar pattern to the PS2 and inrease in it's second year, increase further for year 3, then decrease slowly.

I believe Nintendo itself predicted about 100 million for 2010, if this happens then 18 million for 2011 is not beyond possibility. (although if Nintendo were speaking in fiscal years then their fiscal 2010 ends in March 2010 I think.) Edit, oh and any hardware data from before PS2 will only include Japan.

at this rate I see the wii passing the PSP sometime later this year, for GBA, I think it will pass it around 2010, and gameboy late 2011 or early 2012, as for the DS its uncertain to guess when the wii will pass it

 Yes, the same to NES, SNES and N64 and I think PS1 too.

Nintendo Wii will be ahead of the PSp by the end of the year. Nintendo Wii to finish the year on about 42 million sold. PSP to be on about 41 million sold. The DS will be on about 90 million. I do not know about the PS3 and XBox 360, those two are harder to predict.
BTW They should not release a Nintendo DS 2 for a long time. I wonder how long the original Gameboy was on sale for? I think Gameboy was around for over 15 years.
