1. Lack of third party
2. Lack of online features that PSN and XBLIVE has.
3. Games stay at full price for years
4. Hardware isn't as powerful as PS4 and XB1
5. Not many story based games.

The Dreamcast was outperforming the WiiU in aligned sales till it was discontinued. While the WiiU definitely has the better games in my opinion it's not really fair to judge on that considering the Dreamcast was out in the western markets for less than 18 months! The WiiU's library was pretty bare until Mario Kart 8 and Smash came along.
