Forums - Microsoft Discussion - Microsoft to offer Xbox One trade-up program for Project Scorpio

"We want to make that transition as smooth as possible," Xbox Services manager Dave McCarthy told the Daily Star"Some of our retail partners today do trade-in programs and that's definitely going to be partnerships we continue to move going forward. We'll try partnerships with our retail partners to smooth it even more with trade-in programs and things like that."

Probably worried about the possible dip in sales until Scorpio releases... I know I personally was just about sold on the Xbox1 Slim until they announced the Scorpio

Still, I'll just wait for the Scorpio.

I like this idea a lot, but what kind of discount are we talking about. If the Scorpio costs $600 and I get a $150 credit for my XOne, that's not going to inspire me to upgrade.

I really hope we don't see a 600 dollar price tag.... Even 550 would be a steep hill.

It would probably best if it's a good bit lower than $500 to be honest. Same thing with neo. I remember well how gamers in general responded to the PS3 and xbox one's launch prices.

In regard to the topic, that's a smart move by MS. I know that gamestop will like this news since they already do this sort of the deal with the 360 and PS3 owners trying to get them to move onto the next gen. The question really is how big of trade in are they talking about.

That will be a really good thing by Microsoft if they do it correctly!

So will we lower the sold-through numbers or no?

Why? The used ones will be sold to someone else most likely.
