The idea of going with the market leader for exclusivity made more sense. Just like Dead Rising 3, with Xbox presumed to go on to continue its neck and neck battle with PS in the beginning of the gen, made sense. Now though? With other timed/Capcom exclusive games not doing hot at all, even SFV? Makes a little less sense. |
But you're missing the point. Capcom has gone on record saying DR3 would not have been possible without MS. It's no secret that they've been in financial trouble for years now. Microsoft funded DR3 which is why they published the game. They are not going to allow a game that they're funding to launch on PS4, marketshare be damned. Just look at Sunset Overdrive, Ryse, and Titanfall. I find it amusing that Capcom said they counldn't fund SFV, and that somehow justified not launching on Xbox One. Now we have Capcom presumably unable to fund DR4, and everyone wants a port despite MS funding it (which is most likely the case)? Anyway MS didn't use the "Exclusive to XB1/W10" wording so we don't know where it's going, but still, what kind of double standard is this?
