Sony lacks variety? LOL
People are getting creative this days.

Yeah. It makes me wanna leave the site. I've never felt more like I'm wasting my time on VGC than after this E3. It's a shame after just having witnessed 5 incredible E3 showings (Sony, Microsoft, Nintendo, Bethesda and Ubisoft).

I love my PC, Xbox 360 and my Wii U but I'm first and foremost a fan of the type of games I find on PlayStation (coupled with great 3rd party support of course). And sometimes I consider whether PS fans are some of the worst regarding trolling, baiting and bashing of the opinions of other people.

But then I go into all those Zelda threads and not a single PS fan is acting like a douche. Every poster celebrates the game (which looks absolutely amazing) and the ones not interested simply just stay the fuck out of the thread.

Then I go into a PS thread and every second post is talking trash. Yeah, I should just ignore them but I don't get why people think it's necessary. You'd think the quotes below are pure imaginary but no XD

Uncharted 4: "It's just a movie"

Gran Turismo Sport: "Looks like a PS2 game"

Days Gone: "Another mindless zombie game"

God of War: "Such a disappointment"

Horizon Zero Dawn: "Horizon looks very ordinary" (this was a mod)

The Last Guardian: "Looks super boring"

Death Stranding: "Kojima is so overhyped"

Resident Evil 7: "Nothing more than a cheap early access horror game"

Every PS4 game at E3 ran on standard PS4: "I've seen the games, so it's not hard to believe"

PS4 exclusive lineup: "No variety"

Newly announced PS4 games: "No release dates and Crash Remake is not a new game"

Etc.

Another microsoft vs sony thread, wow

VGC lacks variety.

Bet with bluedawgs: I say Switch will outsell PS4 in 2018, he says PS4 will outsell Switch. He's now permabanned, but the bet will remain in my sig.

Sooooo... how is Sony focusing on the same thing Microsoft is focusing on going to result in MORE variety? o_o Won't both companies just be doing exactly the same thing, actually limiting how varied videogame content becomes? I'm admittedly a bit curious if the word Variety is only being used because the OP's heard talk about Sony's varied content in the past, and is now trying to 'make a stand' without actually knowing what the word means.

Now, I think the argument could be made that Microsoft is doing more to appeal to a multiplayer-oriented crowd, as Sony's offerings definitely focused on single-player experiences, so the meat of the OP does have a point. But when you have one platform focusing on multiplayer, and the other on single player... that's ACTUALLY what variety is. You seem to be pushing instead for content to be homogenized, an 'EVERYTHING should be what I like!' outlook that can only serve to hurt the industry, not help it. =P

In short, no. Microsoft can and should do its own thing, and Sony can and should do what it's doing now. =P

That's a really good point. I like that there are three console manufacturers that have their own brand. Xbox is about online connectivity, PlayStation is more about story-driven single player games, and Nintendo is about local mp and family-friendly stuff.

There's something for everyone.

I feel a urge of sarcasm that i wanna unleash cause this is so damn entertaining! I love this thread, it's the best thread this entire month! Your effort was groundbreaking in your point of view on what variety should be about..... If you weren't pleased by competitive Mp last generation, which was the norm of gaming, you understand that everything except FPS these days are variety, simply cause there is less of everything else

I disagree with everything on the list but i agree that GOW was a disappointment.
