Forums - Nintendo - Ubisoft just announced Just Dance for the NX, and that makes me nervous.

Me personally, I'm looking at another Wii U situation. It's going to come down to paid exclusives and 1st party titles again for NX.

If that's the case then a unified library is 100% confirmed because without it, Nintendo has no chance at preventing multiple game droughts throughout the NX's lifespan virtually by themselves (something Kimishima has said would not happen with the console).

Wasn't Dragonquest announced for the NX some time ago?

Yeah, but considering that was such a long time ago and nothing was announced for the NX until that racing car game and Just Dance, I just assumed Nintendo decided to put the NDAs after the DQ announcement.

You would put NDA's on quality games and exclusives not just dance lol.

Problem is Nintendo poor record of fucking up is what is more concerning lol.

They probably wonder wtf is the NX now when Microosft annouced that 6TFLOP beast

If I understood correctly, they CAN announce games for NX, they just CANNOT show them running on it, neither show the NX itself nor its dev kits until Ninty starts allowing it.

They hold that power regardless. Third parties, or lack thereof, basically silenced any prospects of a comeback from the wii u.

With the Wii U, Nintendo gave third parties that power. They positioned the console as an additional option to PS and Xbox, a device that will play the same games. Of course, such a product cannot afford to not have the games then. Third parties were positive about the Wii U when the system was unveiled.

Third parties didn't hold the power to sink the Wii. Third parties didn't like it.

The wii u was never positioned as a secondary console until after it was beaten by both the ps4 and Xbox one (it was damage control).

Third parties never had power on the wii u (except for Ubisoft which is why they were the most supportive). That was the biggest reason why Bethesda and ea left.

nintendo designed a console with a gimmick in mind, not for developers (much less third parties). Therefore all third parties left and took their respective fanbases with them

WiiU got Assassins Creed, COD, Splinter Cell, Need for Speed and stuff like that. EA announced a "Unprecedented Partnership". 3rd-parties were supportive for WiiU in the beginning.

Those are the basics. Every console is going to have those. Remember, we lost crysis 3, destiny, dying light, aliens, and more all within the first year. Black ops 2 came out for the wii u, but the only dlc was nuketown (one map) and that came out 2 years later!

Things only got worse from there. Ubisoft was the best supporter though. Zombiu was at the time the best use of the gamepad and Rayman legends got amazing scores (on top of utilizing the gamepad well). They needed more supporters like ubi

Same here. But I guess it was expected after the Wii U.

I didn't talk about it being a secondary console. Additional option means that consumers should decide between the three what their console of choice would be. Since Nintendo's sales pitch for the Wii U was "we have all the big third party games now", third parties pulling out after pledging support initially meant that they could kill the platform.

With regards to the additional console thing, I misunderstood.

With regards to their pitch, it was and has always been about the gamepad. Nintendo has never heavily advertised a third party game as much as Xbox one or ps4. Xbox one made a huge effort to secure third party exclusives like sunset overdrive, titanfall, dead rising 3, tomb raider, and ryse. In comparison, the wii u had bayonetta 2, Devils third, sonic boom, and hyrule Warriors (pretty weak list aside from bayo). When it came to games like black ops 2, the wii u barely had dlc (one measely map 2 years late). Aside from Ubisoft, everyone hesitated to bring stuff to the wii u. Nintendo knew this after they created a console with complex architecture and weak gpu. Their pitch was the gamepad since day 1
