260m Nintendo's consoles last gen... Who cares? That wasn't normal...7th gen is irregular in gereral! 100m+ is their standard!

Right now its at 55m shipped 3DSs and about 13m something Wii Us.

Sold through has to be around 67m or so.

It depends on how many millions more the 3DS sells.

Sadder still, Sticker Star originally was being developed as a true TTYD sequel, until Miyamoto saw it and told IS "it's too much like TTYD." If that right there is not being completely out of touch then I don't know what is.

Are we sure he was that important for Sticker Star's development? Sure, he made the declaration, but that still doesn't convince me that Intelligent Systems is the main responsible of the Paper Mario fiasco.



My bet with The_Liquid_Laser: I think the Switch won't surpass the PS2 as the best selling system of all time. If it does, I'll play a game of a list that The_Liquid_Laser will provide, I will have to play it for 50 hours or complete it, whatever comes first.

How can you lose touch, if you do not do the job that people consider you famous for, which is Designing and Directing?

I mean it would be like holding Nolan responisble for Man of Steel, or Michael Bay for TMNT or Tim Burton for Tim Burton's Nightmare before Christmas (This last one is funny as hell, since they actually put Tim Burton's name on it, even if he didn't make it).

With Project Guard and Robot, his own ideas aren't interesting to me, but being a supervisor over the development of other games is still fine

Whatever his role would be labeled as, it's clear that the motion controls idea was spearheaded by him.

The announcement specifies him by name.
His team was going to make games that made use of the Gamepad, just for the sake of it. Not because they discover during the course of game development that, "hey, motion controls would actually be a great idea here."
