Didn't Phil say that he's not interested in doing upgraded consoles or is he lying again?

Did he say Xbox is the only 1080p 60fps machine again? Them buzz words bruh.

I doubt that any of it is true. Kotaku isn't really trustworthy. Phil has said they're not working on an upgraded console before.

Kotaku isnt the only source saying this stuff though.

Phil said he isnt a fan of small upgrades. That isnt the same as saying there wont be a Xbox One ii (a one two or 1.2).

They could probably make a new Xbox thats 5 times more powerfull than the current Xbox One, and it as a upgrade to the Xb1.

It wouldnt be a "small upgrade", and Phil doesnt like the 1.5 name? meh big deal, he just names it something else even if it really is a 1.5 (ps4neo counter).

He said he's not a fan of a xbox one and a half.

There's not many ways to take that. Of course, that doesn't mean that there's not a xbox one and a half but it definitely casts strong doubt on any upgraded xbox one rumors.

People like to put too much stock into rumors from unverified sources. I get that people like the rumors because it's something interesting to talk about but people shouldn't be treating any of it as fact until it's actually confirmed. After another week, everyone will treat those kotaku rumors as gospel and speak in definites about upgradeable consoles, etc. It's silly.

Video game news sites and bloggers can bascially say anything they want unlike actual news who are liable for what they report.

So why would I buy the slim if a better version is coming the year after. Never a good time to jump in anymore with all these upgrade rumors.

As far as I've seen, you've yet to explain what that actually means, beyond "Unlike any other console before it" and "Completely different" and "It'll be to consoles what the iPhone was to smartphones".

What does smart console mean to you? Specifics please (If you can give any)

That's not even remotely true. I've done so literally dosens of times over the past two years in painstaking and redundant detail.

Here is my most recent post detailing some of it. If you think some things are unclear, its because I mentioned others in other posts in that thread. Read it all, but everyone, seriously stop saying that I've never explained what the NX and a smartconsole means, because I have. I have many, many, many, many times.

I see. So point 4 is what pertains the most to what we are talking about. And from reading that, you are saying that the NX will do.... exactly nothing that the current systems can't (and you wrote that yourself), but it will do it so much better that it will be the console equivalent of the iphone to that days' smartphones? While even that paragraph is hard to dechipher into anything deffinitive that the NX will do, other than being digital only (and that I did know you had said....) and the UI being a touchbased one, I think I understand somewhat what you mean, but in the end, I doubt it will be anywhere close to as gamechanging as you seem to think it will be.

Nintendo sold 41 million DSi's out of 141 million DS's and 8 million New 3DS's out of 58 million 3DS's

How many DSi or New 3DS games? neither reached double digits and that's with cheap handhelds.

All this is going to do is hurt the Xbox and PS brands.

Because the slim will be cheaper.

They will run the same games (just at differnt graphics settings).

Depends on how much eye candy you want, and are willing to pay for.

It's a waste of time unless it's a large upgrade imho.

Xbox becoming PC confirmed (and it's not that far even now). Microsoft will unify Windows PC and Xbox, it looks like.

If this is true then the NX is pretty much DOA who in their right mind would buy a NX over a PS4.5 or a more powerful X1.

Interesting read from the Polygon article.
