Well, last time they talked about unprecedented partnerships and ended up abandoning WiiU before the console was even released, maybe this time they say they won't support NX and ends up supporting it really well

They have marketing guys with calculators that advise them on these matters.
If nintendo NX sells at a crazy rate, and looks to be successfull, you can bet they ll start "supporting" the NX.
But this statement from EA, sounds more like "no we dont plan to support it".

Thats just it.... why is it like this?
With sony, 3rd party dont go "we ll wait and see how things turn out".
They support the system from the start (which in turn helps the system sell).
3rd party dont treat nintendo the same way.

I'd actually say that it's more convincing that they're being reasonable. Let's be honest - the "unprecedented partnership" claim never really made sense, as EA was never likely to give Nintendo any notable exclusives or special treatment. It was basically them wanting to be the ones running the online store, which was never going to happen.
EA are probably going to take the same approach with NX as they did with Wii U - port some easy, lacklustre titles across as a "test", and if the system does well enough, and people buy their crap, they'll do more lacklustre ports. And if the system doesn't do well enough, or people buying NX don't buy the weak ports because they're inferior, EA will call it proof of no market and stop supporting it.
But the fact that they're not talking big suggests that they're not going to try to make grandiose claims that bite them in the arse. So at least they'll be a little more honest about their approach, this time.

The problem with lack of support at release is a self fulfilling prophecy. People see there are no games, so interest for the device diminish. With less interest for the hardware, less interest for 3rd parties to bring their games to the console. And it becomes a cycle. This doesn't mean a strong support from the beginning can save a system, but it's annoying to see this kind of trend being ignored, specially by companies. Bring your games to test the waters or don't support at all, but don't say "we're waiting to see how the console performs".
That doesn't sound very good. Like EA or not, you're pretty much dead in the water in the West without them. You can't really even make your own FIFA or NFL licensed titles. Or Star Wars I guess (unless its Lego Star Wars?).
Could be under NDA to not talk more about it though.
You can go ahead and cross out the rest. We know how this ends.
