I remember not playing that game and then now reading this.

Well if you haven't played the game by now chances are you never will so....

This makes pretty much no sense.

Are you incapable of realizing that there may be people that intend to play the game (myself included) that haven't yet done so? And that your post will spoil the game for those people (as it already did for me)? Is it so hard for you to see this and just apoligize and edit in a spoiler tag, or are you seriously gonna continue trying to justify it?

You're holding me to a standard that not ONE single person on ANY forum is adhering to. TLOU is being discussed openly EVERYWHERE. After recently just getting into a huge argument on GAF because some posters don't understand how they're spoiling UC4, it's an insult to consider me a prick, unless you think that the entire world is a prick for talking openly about the game. You've read it now so it makes no difference and to be honest, having played the game after that was told to me, it was absolutely the smallest spoiler the guy could have told me. It's literally the first thing you think when you play the game. I'm sorry that spoilt it for you but there comes a time when you don't use spoiler tags.

Sure, if this had been a thread were one would expect to see people openly discussing TLOU, then sure, discuss away, without using any spoiler tags, but in a thread like this where it's not apparent at all that people will openly post spoilers, then no, I don't think it's acceptable. Anyway I'm glad you've changed it now. I'll edit my quote of your original comment as well.

I remember getting a PM from someone on N4Gs that started reasonably but then suddenly ended with '*TLOU Spoiler*'

Prick.

And now you are being just as much of a prick by posting it here....

FFS

This man gets it.

What was that druckman tweet? he deleted it.

Just a note:
I bought The Last of Us on PS3 late after the cycle, and then rumors surfaced that they would remaster the Last of Us on PS4, so I sold it on Ps3 and bought it on Ps4. I never played it on PS3.

Life hit, school hit and I haven't played the Last of Us yet. I planned on playing it over the Summer.
Just because a game is old doesn't mean you should spoil it for those who might have missed out. And just because I didn't play a game when it came out, or even a few years since release, that doesn't mean I'll never play it.

I still haven't played Xenoblade Chronicles, why don't someone send me a PM and spoil that game. Also send me Halo 5 spoilers as I want to play that, but haven't bought it yet.

You're Slade... I was assuming it was just gonna sit on your shelf for a long long time and given your latest post.... well it has been sitting on your shelf for quite awhile so far

Oh and Halo 5 spoilers since you asked so nicely... Locke is awesome! (haven't played it either so not really spoilers. But... come on, look at him... he's awesome and you know it! )

I guess that's a safe assumption. I have like 20 unplayed games right now. I will eventually play them though.

He looks like a dreamy buffed up Noble, so it must be good!

Edit: Nevermind just counted and it's 41 games unplayed. I have a problem (rofl)

Predictions for end of 2014 HW sales:

 PS4: 17m   XB1: 10m    WiiU: 10m   Vita: 10m

I remember the freaking Star Wars incident here back in Dec. We had a few trolls who actively made usernames and avis of the major spoilers of TFA. I believe I was the only mod who dealt with it (thankfully). But some people are complete assholes like that -had 3 major parts spoiled only a few hours before I saw it

I'll be looking forward to your views on the game.

There's no real standard anywhere on when spoiling a game is alright. It's definitely subjective. Some people like you think a year or three are alright. These two recent phenomena called retro gaming and HD re-releases are lengthening the time frames people are actually playing video games. The idea that if someone hasn't played a game in the first 3 years of its release, they probably never will is a broad and unrealistic assumption based only on your perspective. The market determines that and the way we are consuming games now, plenty of people are playing games years and even decade(s) later (WindWaker HD was one for me).

Because that's subjective, the time frame really doesn't matter, one way or another. You have your opinion about when it's alright to spoil a game and others have different ones. Like I stated, there really is no standard.

The issue, however, is that in your post about spoiling a game in an unrelated post you do the very same thing you were damning another person for (you literally quoted him). So if the other guy is a prick for doing it, why wouldn't you be considered the same?

However much time passes, even if you were talking about the friggin' Sixth Sense or Titanic's endings, your point will never come across if you are doing the same thing you are complaining about. Just use the spoiler tags in those instances.

I don't want to spoil it for you ...

Just kidding.  I played it.  Twice, actually.  I was one o the guys who bought it for PS3 and again on PS4.  Enjoyed it much more the second time.  DInd't really like it the first time I played it.

For those people complaining about the game being spoiled, it's revealed early in the game and knowing this really doens't impact the enjoyment at all.  If you intended to play it, you'll still enjoy the experience.
