Zelda currently has very little momentum. If they'd dropped major new trailers at last E3 and last December, revealing info about the narrative, showing areas other than the grasslands, etc, they could already have a barrelling steam train of hype right now that this E3 could then build on. Instead, this E3 is going to have to kickstart the hypetrain from its current stall.

Yes, but again "Fact is that people already were very hyped about about Zelda U when was revealed at E3 2014, at this E3 that hype will be reactivated and make it much bigger than at E3 2014, and Nintendo will keep that hype and momentum till launch. Aso you don't need year and half to make momentum, Fallout 4 is proof of that."

6 months of huge hype and momentum is more than enuf, you really don't need to 2 years to make momentum.

Rebuilding hype from a stall is always worse than adding to existing positive momentum. Zelda now faces an uphill battle to prove itself against the weight of people's apathy.

From E3 to launch in November is around 6 months, thats more than enuf time to make huge hype and positive momentum (Fallout 4 is revealed at E3 and launch in same year with huge hype). Nintendo will full revile Zelda U with real trailer at E3 and than they will continue making hype and positive momentum with new videos, screenshots, infos.

You acting like Zelda U will be launched in two monts at E3 and not most likely at end of November.

While I agree Fallout 4 was able to gain hype in ~6 months, you gotta admit Zelda has a much steeper mountain to climb. Fallout 4 was being offered to PS4 Xbone and PC owners, Zelda will be offered to Wii U owners and possibly be tasked with trying to give a new console hype.

Also, is there any comparison really to the hype Uncharted 4 has been able to obtain? No.

Zelda U will be offered to Wii U and NX owners. Point is that Fallout 4 is proof that you can make huge hype and momentum in 6 months, also Zelda U already had huge hype at E3 2014, but at this E3 that hype will be reactivated and make it much bigger than at E3 2014.

Yet again, Uncharted 4's hype is on a whole other level compared to Fallout 4. So is Final Fantasy XVs. Their even making a manga and CG film to help with hype as well as had two playable demos. There are reasons for this you know.

Its natural that hype is going done if you dont have nothing to feed that hype, but also is very easy to reactivated that hype with new trailers, videos, screenshots, infos. We already saw that with Zelda U, every time when Nintendo showed Zelda U hype was huge, and now imagine full revile and real trailer at E3.

Apathy!? I really don't see anyone have apathy about Zelda U here, even if some people maybe have apathy all apathy will go when Nintendo release full trailer at E3.

What this game needs is a proper trailer and a name. Seriously, it was announced in E3 2014, it's 2016 and we don't even know how is the name titled.

Please be a remake of The Faces of Evil. Imagine, after all the wait and hype, the first thing we hear in the trailer is "I can't wait to bomb some dodongos".

You know it deserves the GOTY.

I dont know, Fallout 4 hype and momentum was very strong, you even had to buy Pip Boy. Zelda U will be hype much more bigger hype, Nintendo will mark 30th anniversary of Zelda at E3, there will be probably Zelda Symphony, Nintendo will go huge with marketing for Zelda U. Point is, 6 months is enuf to make huge hype and momentum, you really dont need 2 years.

This site is hardly an accurate cross section of the gaming community. We have a very high concentration of Nintendo fans here. And yet you can still find plenty of apathy towards the game.

At this point Nintendo have left it too late to build up a massive wave of hype. No matter how much they stuff into the 5 months from June to November, they'll still be limited in their ability to build momentum. If they try to put a year and half worth of material in 5 months, they'll just oversaturate their audience and people will be numb to it. Nintendo have allowed apathy and negativity to congeal for so long that some of it will stick no matter how positive things are from E3 onwards.

Pacing is key to a well orchestrated hype campaign, its too late to fix that now.

Of Course, some people don't care about Nintendo consoles or Zelda at all but that could be said for about any console or franchise.

I am pretty sure moment Nintendo release full trailer with name at E3 you will see huge hype about game, and it's not really hard to maintain that hype and momentum or even build bigger in 5 months before release of game.

Point is that you dont need 2 years to make hype and momentum, Fallout 4 was reviled and launched in just 5 months.

And Uncharted 4 will sell over half of what Fallout did while only being on one platform.

You can't really know that and F4 sold on PS4 much better than any PS4 exclusive game, also PS4 is buy far strongest platform, F4 on PS4 sold much better than XB1/PC combine.
