What planet are you living on? People criticize Nintendo all the time, this thread is full of people giving them flak for their amiibo shenanigans. Stop acting like criticizing Nintendo makes you some kind of special snowflake.

Starfox SNES and 64 had a similar amount of content and I loved those.

And before someone asks why I don't hold a game in 2016 to a higher standard than a game from the 90s; because games today are generally worse than they were in the 90s.

And what is this meant to prove, precisely? It doesn't discount the many criticisms of Nintendo in this thread, a number of which come from Nintendo fans. Claims that nobody dares criticize Nintendo and that their fanbase dare not speak ill of them are simply untrue, some of Nintendo's biggest detractors are disgruntled fans.

"It took them 10 hours to unlock every stage in the game + alternate paths".

Also StarFox games are all about replayability, they have very high replayability value.

Also game is not $60.

Replaybility is subjective. Grinding same stages for an alternative path is poor excuse. Then MGV V has 200 hours of play value. For 3 hours of game they should charge $20 - $30 at max. But since it's a Nintendo made game no one should say anything bad about it. How dare people question Nintendo. Wake up dude.

Replayability is not subjective if one of main points of game actually is replayability, StarFox games are always made with replayability on mind. You have same stages with different paths, and you unlocking new levels in that way, so its not like you wrote "Grinding same stages for an alternative path".

So a tidbit that was overlooked that may indicate that Falco isn't the only hard mode: the amiibos only effect the Arwing, not the other vehicles. So it doesn't do a blanket difficulty adjustment. So it's possible a proper hard mode will be available via medal collecting. Andre did say he isn't yet allowed to talk about unlockable features. I hope that's the case. This is one of the few Amiibo usages that really bothers me (ironically in the same game as one that doesn't (the retro Arwing is, IMO, the kind of content that works for Amiibo)).

3.5 hours and people are fine with this? @0@

If you're familiar with this type of game you wouldn't be suprisied or expect much more. It'd be like buying FPS shooter filled with crazy set pieces and expecting the campaign to run for 20+hours.

This type of arcade title will typically have upwards of 12 levels. Each taking 10-20minutes to unlock on a first play through depending on your skill. They're built around optional replayability  as opposed to forcing a longer play through time with repetitive level design and rehashing content. Its not an open world game or an adventure title where you'd dilly dally around for hours. Its straight from objective A to Objective B, without down time or lengthy story segments.

I would argue that in 2016, the production costs of these games probably do not require a $60 price tag but this is Nintendo and one of their Flagship IPs, so they know they can push a premium price.

Ok this game is now really a joke...
You pay $60 for this game (which looks like a Gamecube game) and it can be completed in 3h?
This can't be serious from Nintendo...

The replay value is high, most people will probably play it atleast twice that long.

The bad thing, is that makes the people that say it takes hours for you to get used to the weird gamepad cockpit controlls, seem like you can basically play through the intire game and never really have gotten the controlls down.

I am happy with this review

Switch!!!

Oh well as long as it stays fun for 10hours we can't complain really.

Please excuse my (probally) poor grammar

I like that this is a $60 title, I also like that you have to pay another $15 for a difficulty level. I think the game has amazing graphics, will sell millions and be critically acclaimed. It's a good job as when it comes to new WiiU games we have the choice between Starfox and Starfox.

Sony got the smarts to only charge $40 and not dare charge $15 for challenge mode in a terribly unpolished game like Ratchet.

If that's true it should release for $40 at the very least.
