Yeah, I have been apart of the industry since... well, the early 80's when I was a little kid playing Atari. I saw the jump from that system to NES, Genesis, PS1, Dreamcast, Xbox 360... and this is the first generation where buying a new console felt like buying the same console I already owned. The only significant difference is the UI and how fast and smooth it is. The actual gaming side is meh. Hopefully Sony learns from this and creates a true next generation console with PS5.

It's simple , we have came off the biggest generational jump in graphic's, combining that with it being the longest gen and lessons learned from the PS3 with regards to console pricing we got what was to be expected, the console makers simply couldn't make something that was ahead of or on par with top end PC , because the PC hardware was upgrading at a faster rate than what was occuring at the start of last gen, all this ocured with changing to X86 , I feel that the days of consoles being ahead of the curve at the start of a new gen are long gone just like Moores law , but I feel they wil make some headway next gen as they settle in too X86 console production.
