Forums - Movies & TV - Star Wars 7.. What du you think now.?

I saw it a second time in theaters about a week after it launched and still thought it was equally bad when i rewatched it. I really disliked this movie and I really hope episode VIII improves on it.

That doesn't make up for the terrible characters. I think they should reboot this mess and make a more grounded, mature Star Wars movie.

So, go with the current dark and gritty trend? Na, it's star wars. Who specifically are you referring to?

Rey is a bit... OP imo but apart from that I thought the characters were fine.

Did you forget how dark Empire Strikes Back was? Or Revenge of the Sith.

And I'm referring to everyone - Rey, Fin, the villain. None of them will be remembered for any reason other than just for the fact that they appeared in multiple of those movies.

sucking fucks

but ill watch it for the 2nd time in a few days so ill probably hate it even more..

Tsubasa Ozora

Keiner kann ihn bremsen, keiner macht ihm was vor. Immer der richtige Schuss, immer zur richtigen Zeit. Superfussball, Fairer Fussball. Er ist unser Torschützenkönig und Held.

Still disappointed. The story felt like it was taken from a fanfiction.

Huge star wars fan too, ever since seeing the originals as a child where they completely blew me away. The only compliment I can give to the force awakens is at least it is better than the prequels. They had so much content and materials to work from and that is the best they can come up with seriously?

I just watched it for the first time the other day. I thought the first 20 minutes were really entertaining and then it got worse and worse until I couldn't wait for it to end. I'm not even a Star Wars fan and I could come up with a big list of things that were disappointing or just wrong.

I saw it three times in theatres... Wanted to go for a fourth, but was unable to. Oh well, BluRay soon :P

1doesnotsimply

objectively speaking its a fairly good film- I don't think anyone can give solid arguments that it doesn't have good effects, fairly good acting, solid casting, fairly good pacing.

the biggest complaints about the film are that it is a mimic of A New Hope. and while I do agree that it was a bit overkill in that regard, it doesn't magically make it a bad film

I liked it when I saw it and I still like it. It doesn't really stand up next to Star Wars IV and Empire but its still probably the next film by a longshot (sorry Jedi, as much as I like the Endor battle the ewoks and unveiling of Darth Vader were just not good)

I didn't care so much about the ANH similarities as the it was about the old generation handing the baton over to the new generation and overall it was still a fun film. People forget how much "just roll with it" moments there are in the original trilogy.

The thing that bugged me was Rey essentially being a Mary Sue character.

I watched it 3 times now, and it is still more exciting, more coherent and overall a better movie than any of the prequels.

...and that is all I could ask for.

“It appeared that there had even been demonstrations to thank Big Brother for raising the chocolate ration to twenty grams a week. And only yesterday, he reflected, it had been announced that the ration was to be reduced to twenty grams a week. Was it possible that they could swallow that, after only twenty-four hours? Yes, they swallowed it.”
