I'm a comics fan period. This DC v Marvel fanboyism annoys the hell out of me. I've seen DC make exceptional animated films that have cram a lot more information than BvS had to in 60 minutes less run time. They do a far better job than this film. Especially when you consider that their animated features have a younger target audience.

Honestly I wonder how people not versed in the comic lore followed half the plot points. DC took a shortcut so they could launch the Justice League movie sooner and BvS suffered for it. I've heard a few people mention that this should have been a two part movie. I'm not usually a fan of those, but in this case I'm inclined to agree.

Wondering how you liked it, also after coming from the movie I was thinking what could you possible say about the "story" of that to spoil it? That it was bad? :D

Fucking incredible from beginning to end. Going to see it again, as soon as possible.

Glad you enjoyed it mate, what do you think about what I said though.... what single phrase could spoil it? like Superman Dies... again? :D

There was just no Han moment of the film I thought.

That's the phrase!  I've never seen it happen in a film before.  Unless you count the animated film.

You ever watch the max landis video on youtube? The death and return of superman https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0PlwDbSYicM it's a damn good watch but kinda explains what that happening meant to comic book characters in general when it happened first, Great cameos too in that vid.

Still though if you actually count it out in time, Batmans cowl is damaged from the punch he takes from Superman for almost more screen time than Superman is actually dead for, if you count it from when it happens to the dust moving on the coffin  I mean, you should be sadder for the broken cowl since it didn't come back so fast :D

Don't know if that's the DaRoS video or his pitch for a Death of Superman movie but I really enjoyed both.  His Death video wasn't accurate at all but it was funny as hell. His pitch video sounded good at the time but it is waaaaaaaaaaay darker than anything that would make it into theaters.

Anyway, on my phone.

Superman's death in comics wasn't the story.  The real story was about how the world felt he was outdated, why the world needed him, and his return. Also, he returned with no powers and proved he was just as brave without them.

The actual comics went into the story of his death and then were actually cancelled. It really was a world without a Superman. It wasn't "Exactly ONE issue later" like Max said.

DC always said back then, yeah it's easy to kill him....but then, what do you do? The big story was never his death. It was the story if what his death meant and his inevitable return. For me, despite Max bashing it, The Reign of the Supermen was DC Comics hitting on all cylinders!

People were going crazy guessing which guy was the real Superman. The kid? The guy with the look (Eradicator)? The guy with his heart (Steel)? In the end, they showed nobody could replace Clark Kent.

And it falsely says Superman "killed death in comics". Not so. It did set off a wave of stories where old characters got replaced and came back to defeat their replacement but comics characters were dying and coming back way before 1992.
