Depending on who you ask, there are between 13 to 17 million VR ready PC's out there, against PS4's 40 million. Then there is a price difference of maybe $1000. It's a no brainer. PS4 will run away with this one.

There are propably about 500 million devices out there that have two USB 3.0 ports (USB 2.0 works too confirmed by AngryJoe) and a hdmi 1.3 output or higher. And running Windows 7 or higher.

Like it has always been the case on PC, different games have differen requirements. Also, the settings you are running, and even the resolution (however anything lower then native resolution won't look that great)

Would this not defeat the purpouse of a pc? Building a pc as strong as a console or weaker makes no sense. Its actually stupid cuz consoles provide more for the same amount of money. The only advantage you get is going way above and beyond the price of a console and getting getting enoughf boom to see an actual diference. It would be lame to get the hassel of building and upgrading and drivers and all that to end up with the same experience as a console thats just plug and play for the next 5 years at least.

Yeah, because hardware is the only thing that matters?
Ignore all the things like exclusives, backwards compability for 20 years, mods, free online multiplayer, cheaper games etc.

And even if you build a PC that matches PS4, you can upgrade later. You can go from a dual core i3 to a i7 on the same motherboard and ram. From a 750Ti to a Titan X. From a single stick of 8GB ram to 4 sticks of 32GB.

But your point has nothing to do with this topic, I was talking that to connect and use Oculus Rift/HTC Vive for PC you only need a hdmi port and two USB 3.0 ports (USB 2.0 might work with a few dissconects every few hours according to AngryJoe review) on any form of device (desktop, laptop or windows tablet)

Maybe some people don't want to do gaming with a VR headset. There is so much more you can do like watching videos, movies, 3d panoramas, medical training. Even productivity because you can have 6 virtual monitors. For those things IntelHD Integrated Graphics would be more then enough. I'm pretty sure it would be able to drive the most simple VR games like Minecraft at 90FPS too.

Each separate upgradable part you just mentined could cost as much or even much more than a brand new console with a few games. And the titan x alone cost more than a ps4 with psvr and the camera and move controllers.

So what your saying is if your a gamer, get the psvr, if you dont plan on using vr for games, then get a oculous/htc vive. Makes sense. I would like to pay less if its just for entretainment, where I to need it for work or training then yea I see me paying more for a quality product. So I will stay away from pcvr then since all I want is games and maybe porn.

I think PSVR will sell more but the I think the PC VR's look cooler. But if I want VR I will get it on ps4(cheaper to buy a ps4 and psvr than build a pc and get a vr headset.

We are going offtopic again, but PC Gaming is cheaper then console gaming for the same level of performance.

Are you trying to say that the Titan X (the most powerful graphics card) is more expensive then the PS4?
Last time I checked the fastest car in the world was also a few millions dollars, in comparasion, technology is very very cheap to get the best of the best.

So what your saying is if your a gamer, get the psvr

That makes no sense, since the PSVR has about 0.1% of all games a Oculus Rift or HTC Vive can play on PC. I think it's worth it to spend the extra 150$ on a Oculus to play that many more games. You don't even have to, because there are a lot of cheaper headsets in developement, that will be around 300$ like the Razer OSVR.

Im getting off topic? Im just responding to you,you have started off topic. But no, it has been prooven hundreds of time. Just watch any youtube video on how to build pc's that rivel consoles. Most dont even use new parts and are all second hand, all leave the operating system out, but thats free now so no problem. And they most target a $400. PS4 is $350 with free games. Console optimization is not up to debate. Devs have come foward time and time again to show this. I think I saw an article very recently saying that it was like 50% better the similar speced pc's.

Excatly. The most expensive graphics card, but still, the reqired graphics card for OR and Vive to work cost as much as a new ps4 to begin with. After that, or even before, the more money you put on equipment barely increases performance. I have seen dual titan x add only like 40% boost to a single tian x. You see the same as cars. thouse multy million dollar caars perform no more that 2-3 times the performance of a regular 25grand car. Is it worth it then?

And no, pc does not have that many more exclusives by using old games. Anddefinelty no to the $150 dollar price you metioned. It $1000 dollar entry price diference between psvr and pcvr. And the Razer OSVR still requier mid range gaming pc's, wich are still more expensive than consoles. and even on their site they say that this means nothing about motion sickenes, as if your pc cant handle the game, you will not have a good expirience. So at the end, demanding games, or even decent games will ask for a highe end pc.

I'm not even begin to argue with this, this shit has been proven over and over and over again. There are indeed hunderd/thousands of video on YouTube. Here is a 400$ part list i made just for you. You are excluding the "loan" that you have to take with the cost of a console, in form of 50$ per year just for online multiplayer and 60$ games when you can get them on PC for 30-40$. Far Cry Primal is just 28.99$ for example. Feel free to send me a message.

You don't need a 1000$ PC to run VR games, it depends on what games you want to play. Are you comparing the early PS3 graphics VR games on PSVR with games like GTA 5 and Star Wars Battlefront on PCVR?

The problem is you are stating these things as fact when they are highly debatable.

Not going to go there. I don't think the mods here would be that happy about it.

No doubt that the ps4 will get better support. However, I am not sure that these first wave of VR games will and should be about kick ass graphics and complex gameplay. Even NASA supercomputers will have a hard time running those atm in VR. These will be more innovative party like games and something like the Getaway on the ps4 will probably suck.
