Advantages Ps4:

- Big Company Sony backs it up (pays developer for (exclusive) VR games)

- Ps4 very successfull, PSVR probl cheaper, more consumers

Advantages PC:

- High end PCs are more powerfull - more possibilites

- Pc allows mods, so the community could make games VR-able

I love PlayStation 4, but obviously PC will get more support. Since PlayStation 4 is for gaming. While PC is for, well ... everything.

But that doesnt mean the PSVR is gonna suck. Sony has the biggest first party studios in the world so the PSVR is gonna have a lot of supports. I'm looking forward to both actually. One for gaming and one for porn XD!

Actually, Sony is going to allow mods, on PSVR (although not quite to the extent of PC).

And, PlayStation 4 is not a gaming only device. And, PlayStation VR is moving even furthur from that. PlayStation is a PC that is built for gaming first, but is quite capable of everything else, just as a PC is. Sony is even moving to allow people to develope games for PS4, Android, and iOS on PS4 through the Unity engine in Dreams. Traditional PC's and Consoles are relics of a bygone era. The future is set spec boxs on customized and optimized APU's, that see enhancements over time. Xbox and PlayStation are the Home Computer of the next generation.

I know I chimed in with this before, but it is getting more and more relevent as each new event passes.

PSVR is not only about games. In fact gamers are only a very small part. Sony has the inital focus on games as that is what they do that no one else does, but, at the end of the day, it is other experiences that are going to make PSVR and the rest of the VR devices change the way we do everything.

For everyone that thinks PSVR is going to be a limited platform, on a closed ecosystem, its time to think again. Sony is opening the flood gates with PSVR, and they are going to try and turn it into the defacto VR device. They want to be the iOS of the VR world, and they are approaching it with that type of business model in mind.

Now, I think both PSVR and PCVR are going to be huge hits, I just think Sony is in a spot where they can taking a commanding lead. With PSVR Sony has a business model that is as easy to understand, and easy to sell. On the PC side of things, you are asking consumers to be quite tech savy to make sure that it actually works, and for quite some time, that is going to lead to very disopionted Oculus and Vive consumers.

Dude you keep chiming in with the same tune each and every time, we get it, you want Sony to absolutely rule oevr everything, where you can pay your taxes and do all your paperwork on your console, where you can go to hospital and use all sorts of Sony esque equipment, where Doctors use PSVR for medical purposes, where you buy Sony food etc.

I just don't think it's healthy to be so heavily attached to a brand like that, so far it's shown that you want just Sony and absolutely nothing else in this reality, for every time you tell me it's not true, I raise you to each time you talk of Sony gaining or leading ground in any area you think they are going to lead in.

Well that may be stretching it a bit far. I am very loyal to Sony, as I am very loyal to a lot of brands, and I am very loyal to my family, and my friends. I don't jump ship when things get bad or a new hot flash in the pan comes about. That is the way I live, I know it is not for everyone, and that is cool, we all have our own quirks.

In this situation, I think Sony is in an exceptional situation to really get out and grab a good chunk of market share, and I think they are taking the correct steps to make sure they continue to gain ground going forward. I think Oculus and Vive are great products, and they are going to do very well in a lot of places outside of the consumer market that PSVR will never have a hand in. However, I think OR and Vive will not be major competitiors with PSVR in the consumer space. I think that whatever Microsoft, Nintendo, or Apple come out with will fill that roll.

I just don't see PC as a great place for VR in the mass market. Simpler boxes, and more streamlined approaches are going to be where the billions end up putting their money.

But still very loyal to Sony above all others. I am loyal to my family and friends but I'm not willing to sacrifice my soul and pitch for a brand at every turn above all others, I shop from Valve, Blizzard, EA, GoG, GMG, retail stores for movies, but I'm not loyal to a single brand because there is no brand that topples everything else, they are just stores and services at the end of the day to me, they are not my insurance, tax, medical, food type of stores that do everything or will do everything for me for all my life needs.

I disagree, I don't see Sony taking a chunk of the VR market share that has yet to fully be realized and prove itself along with fully existing (games and all that being out in the thousands right now). I see Vive and OR doing their own things as well as gaming and there definitely will be support, communities and games to be had for both devices, just like there will be for PSVR, only difference is with an open platform you have the modding community, multiple parties that can offer their own games, software and other devices for VR without having to sign some waver or having to abide by a single corp, I see VR thriving with an open and vast population of people from all parts of life taking their own chances with VR, whether it be via gaming, sports, tech, medical, industrial, science etc, the options are limitless when you place vr with a platform like PC. If you're talking about casual folk well mobile VR is set to take that record quite easily and is far cheaper for those who already own a mobile device.

I just don't see Sony having a massive portion of the VR market while everyone else has  a pittance share.

Well said, too bad most people never do they research. They think the cheapest option for VR on PC is the Oculus Rift for 599$ while there are about 30-40 options that will be around 300$ like the Razer OSVR (Open Source VR). Like always, marketing always wins.

Seriously do you think Sony got more money than Facebook ? Do you think Sony got enough money to make more  AAA game exclusive for VR and ps4 ? mostly you will see on PSVR will be indie games and maybe two or three AAA games . It's true ps4 making money for Sony but do they other stuff making money for Sony too ?

Exclusives are the only thing keeping the console market alive.

That's the other part that almost never gets acknowledged here is that the other two headsets are going to have refinements (like most tech goes through) and also become cheaper with time, hardware is also always improving by the weeks, months and years which would also mean the typical gamer wouldn't ened to spend a mythical 2k on a custom rig, hell there are still options today to buy pre-build or have your own rigs built for you, the options to find cheaper parts and hardware is always there and it's always going to be the platform's advantage.

PS4 because PC isn't an option for gaming.
