Been a joke for a long time now, good summary in OP.

If feminists were serious, they'd be going to countries where women lack the same rights as men (e.g. the middle east) in order to help them. Not whining in their parent's house on youtube about how in a country where equal rights exist that you're so oppressed because of the PATRIARCHY.

Where I'm from, the middle east, I see real women struggles, so when I think about feminism I think about the hardships women face in my culture, and muslim women facing discrimination in the West. Sorry I can not relate to purple haired women whining about sexist video games, and that whole gamergate internet mob stuff from both parties looked creepy and embarrassing. Also anonymous assholes on the net don't only target women, for me racism is a much bigger issue because that's what I'm confronted with.

I think that is what bothers me the most about modern feminist. They latch onto bogus statistics that are easily proven false yet even after proven false they continue to tout said statistics. Take the gender pay cap. No matter how many times I has been shown that the gap is much much smaller than what they quote. Alot of pay differences are explained by career choices and contract negotiations. Equal pay for equal work itself is a farcical idea. Two people may get the same job at the same time for the same company. Both are offered the same starting pay. One says I deserve to be paid more and negotiates a higher wage. Or the company can look at their past experience and that experience is worth a small bump in pay. Or what if you have two cashiers doing the same job but one has been there for 10 years one for 1 year... Is that loyalty to the company not to be rewarded?

#menimism is hilarious though. All the power to that.

I can support the ideal behind feminism. Feminism itself is something I can't support though, considering how it's turned out in practice. I'm all for equality (as in equal opportunities and treatment, not forced 'equality' no matter what), but feminism in practice seems to often focus not on equality but benefits for women.

Also, a feminist seems to often be a person who complains about choice of words and other subtle things that mostly don't actually mean anything inequal, but at the same time considers the word 'feminism' to be OK for a cause that strives for equality. That's hypocrisy.

I understand that most feminists are OK, but to someone not too too familiar with feminism, it seems it's the radical ones that drive the movement.

Some feminist movements make me think they're just angry because they were born without c0cks. And it could be solved with surgery.

I don't think about feminism at all. As far as I'm concerned, there are only people and their opinions. I don't care what they label themselves as, labels are unimportant.

Well look at vg chartz, how many profiles have women over sexualised, can't tell that's treating women fair.
I was a lurker for year's you never see women post on this site, but i bet there's loads lurking who want to post but feel there views would be laughed at or people would just try to chat them up.

Well it's not as if it's mandatory to state your gender when posting on an internet forum and even if you do it's not mandatory to be honest about it. This whole 'no women post on this site' stuff kind of irks me. Just because there aren't people with I'M A WOMAN in every post they make doesn't mean there aren't women posting here...

Very much this, I rarely feel the need to sign off my posts with.

"I've got a penis"

Although it might get some bonus replies!

Considering feminism is a movement to help women get equal treatment, I see nothing wrong with it. People often mistake it as a "men vs women" thing, for some reason. It's sad and annoying, and just leads to more bickering and hate.

I myself just hate groups for this reason. There'll always be a chance that a large group of idiots will be interested in it and ruin the original intention.

Feminism was good, up until several years ago when everything went downhill

12/22/2016- Made a bet with Ganoncrotch that the first 6 months of 2017 will be worse than 2016. A poll will be made to determine the winner. Loser has to take a picture of them imitating their profile picture.

No, feminism is about equality. The name is feminism because the female group started with far less rights.

That may have been its intent, however, that's not what the vocal members feel (or do). Which is why so very few people on the planet consider themselves feminists. The numbers are dwindling, because feminism has gone off the rails. Thankfully, we don't have to call ourselves feminists to believe in and support equality.

What feminism is is absolute. The number of people believing something doesn't make it true.
