I'm just hoping that consoles don't end up becoming digital only anytime soon, I'd probably lose some interest in gaming if that happens.

You'd probably get over it. The experience is 99% the same.

Well, this is new.

So what is the digital market on console worth now?

Doesnt specifically mention it. They showcase info about specific top 10 games in PC and mobile along with the amount of growth and total worth in digital but not for specific consoles though.

Here's more information - I should post this in the OP too lol.

Interesting tid bit is that subscription gaming is falling - which would explain WoW's reduced numbers in the past couple of months to years.

I agree I'd rather not pay £50 per game where as now with physical with resale it costs me like £5 a game, Such a big difference.

Also surprised that a 2014 game of Madden NFL 15' is still making millions of dollars. That is crazy and no wonder its a annual release series lol.

Also surprised that Dungeon Fighter Online is #3 most profited PC game - could have sworn the game was dead lol.

Clash of Clans is no surprise - everyone I know who at least games casually on mobile has that game lol.

None of the superdata links works for me though. It doesn't work when I google superdata and go to their home page (page doesn't load) :-3
The VGC article about this said digital console sales grew to 4$ Billion though, so I found my answer.

Those are all 3rd party console sales. Are they counting sales directly from console stores? I didn't read the article yet

That's good, will also means MS/SOny will become less dependant on retailers. I still believe digital prices on console games are so high because of retailers.

Pretty sure its PSN/XBL/Eshop combined -  3rd party titles make up the bulk of profit from digital sales. Specifically due to the Microtransactions/DLC that come with them as well (also the benefit of being Multiplatform).
