Cool, lets force affirmative actions at the oscars as well.

I think the academy should just nominate everyone who was in a starring or supporting role this year and just give out golden participation trophies to everyone.

You know I was always wondering why no one ever used the dollar sign for $ony, but then I realized they have no money so it would be pointless.
While I do agree that the lack of diversity is indicative of a problem, I also think that these decisions to "boycott" the Oscars is misguided in the extreme.
Did Rosa Parks boycott buses in 1955? Think about what would have happened if she did. What would happen if "African Americans" had just refused to use buses at all - it would just become another place that whites wouldn't be exposed to anyone who looks different from them.
What should be happening is a dialogue with all of the Oscar candidates, to get them to mention the diversity issue in their acceptance speeches, should they win. They need to make sure that the full diversity is on display in the audience, and refuse to allow the event to be a white-only event. Visibility is essential, and boycotting won't bring visibility, it'll limit it.

okay. to answer my own question here are the top 10 rated movies according to rotten tomatoes:
so basically the possibility of non-white actors is: 1. selma 2. the black guy from star wars |
Hey! Paddington aint no Cracker!

On topic tho... this whole shit regarding the Oscars keeping the black man down, if anything, has just drawn negative light on what some people think is equality. I just hope they're fine next year with a White guy getting the 100m Gold Medal at the olympics even tho he doesn't run it, nor have the ability to run in it. Gotta keep things "Equal"
Why not check me out on youtube and help me on the way to 2k subs over at www.youtube.com/stormcloudlive
Considering the films that haven't been nominated, it is pretty obvious that the academy has a bias against african-American actors. So should a person boycott because they have a bias?
Problem: we shouldn't nominate white people just because of their skin color.
Solution: we should have black nominees just because of their skin color.
.........
That's how silly people protesting sound to me.
Why is that some of the most talented celebrities always like to talk BS about things they know very little?

Oscars are just the pinnacle of douchery, anyway.
It's like "employee of the month", but for some reason, people give a shit.

Yes, the racists must hate Will Smith so much to give him that much money.

Give the Black guy from fantastic 4 an oscar to make an statement. Most actors are white, most great actors are white (yes Morgan Freeman and Samuel L Jackson are also great as is Jackie Chan). But I can't name a black actor with that much skill these days ehich still makes movies except for Samuel. Especially not Will whiney Smith and the son he carries along with him.
Please excuse my (probally) poor grammar
