Its over $100 million in China now it might not make it past $100 million in any other foreign market though.

Germany and U.K are also past 100m, but you probably mean from the other ones, France is at 80 and Japan at 74 as of 01/19, but it will be hard for either to make it to 100m.

I already mentioned Germany earlier in this thread and the U.K. was the first foreign market where it went over $100 million it would be nice if it could at least get to over $100 million in at least one more foreign market that way it would be tied for second place of most foreign markets over $100 million with Titanic which went over $100 million in Germany, France, the U.K. and Japan.

I think this snow storm will hurt sales a lot it seems. But it should still have some nice weekday grosses for at least the next three weeks. Weekends will push out another 30 million too! But yeah, I would have to say it is pretty much done on its quest for a billion domestically. Unless Disney adds a thousand screens for awards season and does a huge IMAX run as well to try to push it up there I do not see it anymore. |
Can't speak for anyone else who thinks it will pass abillion domestically, but I think it will get there because it will have better legs than many of the summer block busters people compare it to not as huge as Titanic or even avatar, but still better than Jurassic world or three avengers and like with do many movies before it, add some point while it's mostly dwindling down Disney will make a push and increase the number of theaters for a short time that will give it a nice boost.
It's pretty much done this week.
I describe myself as a little dose of toxic masculinity.
It seems it cannot make another 200 mil to pass Titanic, such a shame.
Truly a historic run. The most fun run to track ever in terms of the domestic box office of all the ones I have seen.
Internationally it's done well too...I think VIII will be the one that becomes more successful in the developing markets.
As far as the UK is concerned, it became our highest grossing film of all time, can't ask for much more!
Also had exchange rates been at 2009-2011 levels it would be flirting with a $2.5 Billion total
Seems like it will fall short of Titanic, or get really close at least. Retagging this thread
Could be past 900 million domestically with Fridays numbers already should be past 2 billion world wide by Sunday.

Yeah, unless it crashed a lot from last weekend it should be well past 900 million by now. 2Billion easily. Unless the Academy and other awards and Disney give it a boost TFA is more or less done. Legs will push it some more but that is it. |
Well its going to be in theaters for at least another two month but its legs are super weak at this point and so is the overall domestic box office. TFA will be in the domestic top 10 until the end of the month.
