I would not call Halo5 as flop. It released in the last week. If November it sells something like 200-300K. Then obviously it kinda flopped. Forza6 though is definitely a flop. I was excepting it to do better. I knew Xbone would win the October but if the difference is 50K by max then it is not a big difference

30k difference form the numbers we have.

Well, so much for Amazon's perfect record. But like I said in that thread, people weren't looking at all the factors for XB1 to win.

Amazon predicted this month nicely.  It suggested things were very close because 3 ps4 bundles were counting towards November and Halo 5 had a lot of pre October pre orders.

It's not as simple as the top bundle wins.  The question was,  would the Halo bundle pre orders be enough to give x1 the win and the answer was yes.

BTW it looks like assassins creed did 580k combined.

Is this the first major month where we can directly say that everyone lost? Jeez.

XB1 barely breaks 300k in Halo month.
PS4 loses (by what looks to be ~30k) despite the first price cut.
Halo 5 numbers appear to be nearly disastrous.
Nintendo is Nintendo (portable down by a substantial % to boot).

Hopefully Nov/Dec bounce back for the industry. Because October looks like the apocalypse.

580k is Xbone + PS4 from what I read.

Xbone: 305k
PS4: 276k

Most people saw in being so close it could go either way but gave the edge to PS4, I did and see a few others also. There were also a few saying that PS4 had it in the bag which was just stupid to claim in the first place.

not me, I was one of the few that predicted a win for xb1.

I know a good amount of PS fans that predicted this. Even when Uncharted bundle overtook the $500 Halo bundle.

we have the prediction thread for that but I know I wasn't one of them.  I had a feeling that the halo bundle was going to be enough to win the month.

Tell that to the "sure win" guys.

I honestly wonder if people are beginning to wait for November/Black Friday, now that, at least for consoles, people have begun to expect a massive push by all companies.  I mean, it's been that way for a long time, but it seems like it really took off last gen and this gen.

That's likely, although October isn't that big of a month, so you probably won't be looking at more than 50-100k postponed purchases for a healthy platform.

December sales have shifted notably into November in the last few years. Shadow1980 has numerous graphs which illustrate that nicely. Back in the old days December saw around a 50% increase or more over November sales, but nowadays November and December are about evenly big.

Maybe it'd be worth a look at seeing how October has changed over the years, has that been done yet?

Halo is your Daddy...

Man you seem stuck in this ongoing mental turmoil of how Halo is performing.  wish you a speedy recovery.  Perhaps getting back on the playstation to play some actual games might help :)

...and what does he do?

Yep lol..Maybe talking about Halo taking a beating is far more appealing than playing games. I mean seriously he talks about it being some kind of Daddy -  which I'm sure is intended to satisfy certain urges lol :)

I don't like those cocky people so I'll pass.  Oh and ethomaz corrected me.  580k is for x1 & ps4 combined.  Not assassins creed.

If true ps4 lost by 30k so the net result for September and October is a ps4 win.  Sony gotta be happy with that.  Expect a massive November for them too.  Ps4 could be over 1 million.
