OK. Pretty sure I have almost exact PS4 number assuming Xb one 305K is pretty much correct to within 1000
Based on NPD PR from the venture beat article:
"Console hardware sales increased by 3 percent over October 2014,” he said. “This was due entirely to [Xbox One and PlayStation 4] generation sales, which rose by 12 percent to offset the 66 percent decrease in hardware sales for last generation consoles.”

PS4+Xbone is 12% up on PS4+Xb one Oct 2014.
Oct 2014 Xb one + PS4 *12% = 553,831-305K (Xb one) = 248,851 for PS4.

Better than the 230K extrapolated from Zhuge's deleted tweet, but not much better. 50K down YoY which is almost 20%. But I am surprised NPD didn't comment that PS4 is down YoY while Xb one is up. So the fact is all hardware is down bar Xb one. But somehow NDP/VB decided to say PS4+Xb one is up YoY. Weird and quite misleading.

Problem is we can't be sure whether they mean actual units sold or revenue in these comments.

If Zhuge actually has numbers. And the 8th gen home console cumulative is in the low 600's despite his tweet being wrong by saying ~600K and being deleted it does seem to point to PS4 being in the 250K range.

Well I did delete that tweet because it was wrong :P

Holy sh@t... Amiibo at 9m LTD  with 800k amiibos sold-through in the USA just in October! I don't dare to imagine the sales of this crazy thing on black Friday and holidays.

:O:O:O:O:O:O

I dont see why they sell so much uhh. Nintendo is going crazy with this amiibo shit. It seems like someone like me who only has 2 amiibos Nintendo is shoving them down my throat because without amiibo it seems that i can't get the full game.

Everyone is celebrating the wealth of a corporation, which doesn't pay taxes at all and due for it's high inflation, your economy takes a hit and your country is sinking deeper into despair of bankruptcy.

You all are celebrating your own downfall and you are proud of it.

Sony is doing the same, but USA's economy isn't their problem, i am sure Sony pays their taxes and helps Japan's economy as we speak.

When the world ends, it doesn't end with a boom, it ends in celebration.

If you think i might be over-exaggerating, it's not my fault that you haven't paid attention to anything except gaming.

Joke post? This must be satire. Maybe copied and pasted from GAF?

Doesnt Sony still make more money from selling insurance than anything else? Lets pool together a donation so they can cope this month.

OK thanks, Perhaps Microsoft could of used this to sell a few more consoles, Im sure there are some people that have enough spare cash and would buy an extra console just to play their favorite game a week earlier

You are probably right.  Just look at how well that 150 dollar controller is selling.

It's nearly sold out till next year.

Really not sure I see any point of Consol over PC's since Kinect, Wii and other alternative ways to play have been abandoned.

Top 50 'most fun' game list coming soon!

Tell me a funny joke!

MS isn't paying any taxes? You expect people to believe that hyperbole? What's bankrupting the US is it's politicians not understanding what a budget is (spending $$ like it's infinite) and that they need to create new sources of income/taxes. Just from reading the majority of your post.... I think you dropped your tin foil hat in a different thread.

Do you guys think we will still get some halo numbers?

So the PS4 may be down slightly from last October, huh? Well, if we take a look at per-week averages over the PS4's life (which allows us to account for the effects of five-week months on the apperance of monthly graphs), it may not be as bad as it does at first glance.

Last October had an unusually high per-week average. That this came after the release of Destiny suggests the possiblity of said game having a significant residual effect on sales, likely due to the limited edition bundle. Indeed, the white PS4 Destiny bundle was #23 at Amazon.com last year. To my knowledge there wasn't really anything else that month that could have stimulated sales enough to where they'd be about 50% higher than the pre-Destiny baseline.

In 2015, January was down a good bit YoY, while the tax season months of February and March saw things rebound back to about where they were in Feb.+March 2014. Then we had another YoY drop for April & May. June was up a good bit YoY thanks to the Batman bundle, and July and August were up slightly. September had The Taken King, which did move additional hardware, though not to the degree that the original release of Destiny did.

Looking at the PS4's performance so far, barring the release of big bundles (i.e., Destiny and Batman), the PS4's average baseline was 48-49k in the Q2-Q3 period.

So, what of this month? Let's just assume the PS4 sold 280k in October. Since October is a 4-week month, that averages out to 70k per week. This is an over 40% increase in average weekly sales compared to the previous normal baseline. While we will have to wait and see if that's just a fluke, a 40% boost is about what the PS2 got after its first price cut. Total PS2 sales from May 2002 to March 2003 were up 42.7% from the May 2001 to March 2002 period. Even if the PS4 only managed 250k for October, that's still upwards of 30% up from the old baseline, which considering this is the smallest first price cut ever for a PlayStation console, both numerically and in terms of percentage, actually isn't that bad.

After crunching the numbers, it appears that the price cut did work, and that this October only looks bad in direct comparison to last October, which had a per-week average well above the norm, likely due to the residual effects of Destiny.

Good analysis. So 40% increase isn't to bad if indeed it did sell 280k

Oh please, it's globalization. Everyone screamed for it, now you have it. The US does suffer, but Ireland is more than happy to take 12.5 % of the income of Apple, Microsoft and so many others. Maybe the US should just think about lowering their tax rates. That said, taxes are one of our smallest problems when it comes to financials.

About Sony helping Japan: I can guarantee you that Sony uses every hole in the tax system it possibly can. They don't have the problem of bringing home a shitload of money though, because they barely have any money! =D

If Sony had 150+ billion dollars cash lying in Ireland you can bet your ass that they would keep it there. Why should anyone in their right mind do something else? To be a better person? To save the planet or something? Give me a break. Like governments would do anything good with that money. The german government pays billions and billions for the Eurofighter and some more billions for weapons that don't even work as they are supposed to (G36). They pay billions and some more billions for weapons in africa and are seriously wondering, why the people down there are using them to kill each other. They save banks with billions of euros, although those banks brang us the economy crisis in the first place! And you know how they pay for those billions? With credits from the exact same banks they are giving the money to! It's crazy! All the while the budgets for education and science get cut. Yeah, who needs ITER, screw fusion energy, we have ridiculously expensive wind and solar energy which we have to get out of the net when it's too hot or windy, so we pay the polish money for them to take our energy! And then we have to pay money for energy from french nuclear reactors when there isn't enough wind or sunlight. Ain't that the perfect solution for any energy problems? And you expect me or anyone else to give our money to such mad persons? I don't think so, sir.

Topic: It's nice to see that the console battle is still interesting in the US at least. Next two months of NPD should be really exciting!

So X1 at 305k and PS4 around 250k? How much is the PS4 lead in the US again?

Jason you need to stop dude.

Ok, find positive reason and excuses for Xbox failings but stop with the negative excuse to tread on PS4s failings.

Pre orders count, a small percentage cancel but that doesn't mean that you can ignore preorders. It's the same level of excuse you come up with in favour of the XB1.

I don't understand what you mean? Both consoles did way below my expectation but i said ps4 failed because of next month. Ps4 will beast during November and December.

That's BS. You are trying to say preorder don't count which is laughable.

You call NDC a flop, somebody points out that it was bundled heavily and you say it doesn't matter. Yet, in another thread, you try and inflate Halo 5 numbers using bundles.

I see you all the time coming up with false data and information to make XB1 look better. You even stated that XB1 bundles were outselling the PS4 in the bestsellers on website rankings until somebody sourced info to prove you were lying. I had to correct you numerous time with data you try and bring to threads.
