Actually, what I'm hearing is that Hollywood would love this, because it gives them a chance to try to damage the one entertainment industry that makes more money than they do. But, it really doesn't cater to many people's interests, and if Gjoni wins in Massachussetts, yeah, it could be disastrous to even touch that movie.
The movie, if it happens, is going to be obviously be a 100% biased and un-entertaining pile of shit.
But this line, I'm sorry, was fairly accurate to that "certain minority" of gamers, and funny as hell:

I can be the type to mutter "fucking casuals", but I've never tasted either Mountain dew nor Cheetos. I.. could go on, but its so pointless. How is it "fairly accurate"? Its another stupid stereotype about gamers that is old and simply wrong.

Who would pay to watch this lol. Gamers wouldn't hand cash over to Quinn and I don't think non gamers give enough of a shit to see the other side of it, every $ spent on the project would be lost imo.

I had forgotten about that :o So glad he got the funds for it. He, and the rest of the sane world, really needs that win.

It's actually quite simple.
1) The gaming media is corrupt as hell and was engaged in all kinds of improprieties (see deepfreeze.it). This was unravelled following on from accusations that some chick had been sleeping around the help her game get exposure.
2) Loads of assholes online sent her death threats and all of that crap you tend to find online when you piss the wrong people off.
3) The gaming media, confronted with a lot of people demanding explanations for the corruption, completely doubled down, refused to address any of it and deliberately equated everyone who was upset about it along with the people sending death threats to this girl. They then went to the mainstream media and spread the idea that that's what gamergate was mostly about in order to shut it down.
4) Everyone involved has remained angry ever since.
