It may not hit the lofty heights of the original, but everything we've seen so far suggests it will be a good game.
Most reviewers are geving extremely good reviwes for it.No need to worry
My (locked) thread about how difficulty should be a decision for the developers, not the gamers.

The definition of "science fiction" is imaginitive content of science ... Does Xenoblade feature anything that moves faster than the speed of light ? No, since it obeys our current understanding of modern science so it is very far away from fiction on a physical perspective. X on the otherhand having spacecrafts that travel faster than the speed of light is flat out "fiction" ... Is it possible to revive a full cryogenically frozen body without extensive damage ? No, that type of medical science in X is currently a "fiction" ... The only content in Xenoblade that you could classify as "science fiction" are the giant mechs been structurally sustainable without energy issues ... X is certainly more advanced but Xenoblade hardly ever borders on "science fiction" ... |
The ending of Xenoblade can be considered quite speculative and has to do with science - not fantasy. I'd say much more so than FTL travel.
Play XBC to the end, and the scifi parts of the game make sense. The fantasy parts can be explained through "speculative" science as well.

No it isn't. Per dictionary.com: "fiction based on imagined future scientific or technological advances and major social or environmental changes."
But even taking your definition, I'm assuming you never got too far in Xenoblade, since it's more than just the mechs that's beyond what we can do: off the top of my head there's fully autonomous robotic armies, magic-like genetic engineering, post-Turing AI's, cybernetics advanced enough to effectively change one's species, and an entire civilization that's at the Jetsons level. You're being way too narrow in your thinking. Xenoblade is as sci-fi as Star Wars, complete with The Force.

And your opinion about the japanese game? I swear I stop now. |
Not that great, really.
Repetive, weak story, boring missions.
i have lower expectations or i would say different perspective about XCX than XC. It is more about futuristic with mechs. and graphics is better. not sure about the story though. but certainly love mechs so i'll try to save a ton of cash to buy the mech i wanted. not sure if i can customize the mechs that much. :D
i don't expect the game to be that great like XC.

Tachi thought it was pretty good, so it must be
Still need to play the first one though, but sadly I have no time to do so.
