I still think a $50 isn't asmart move. It will cut into Sony's profit margin but it won't have a significant impact on sales. You need atleast $299 for that. Besides MS will just match it.

Asserting that a 50$ price cut on a unit that has never been price cut officially, is ludicrous, especially considering bundles are inevitable in the holiday season.

And since when was MS matching Sony's price EVER mattered toward the PS4's sales.

So I guess that confirms that Phil has at least 2 working synapses in his head to come to this conclusion.

If you demand respect or gratitude for your volunteer work, you're doing volunteering wrong.

So basically he saying that we will have Xbox One too.

LOL.

The obvious answer is that the Xbox One got $150 cheaper to own than the year before it.  That is a price drop.

Xbox One with Kinect was $499 which then sold for $449. Xbox One without Kinect was $399 then sold for $349. If your going to say Xbox One got a $150 price cut then I guess you would be a hypocrite if you ever complained about PR spin.

Its pretty easy to understand that it got $150 cheaper to own an Xbox One, anybody that goes against that logic is obviously wrong. But is it really that hard to associate each Xbox One models price point? We aren't idiots, we all know and understand each other's argument but its the side that states "Xbox One got a $150 price cut" that is politically incorrect.

There was no XBox with Kinect and without Kinect. There was only XBox One that cost $499. There was no other way and other price at which the console could have been purchased.

The first price drop was to $399. To facilitate the price drop, Microsoft removed excessive unneeded burden from it.

XBox One now costs $350, making it 30% cheaper than the initial price.

Everybody expects it. The question is when... this holidays to fight against Microsoft's solid line up? Or after Christmas to continue the momentum and boost the sales after the holidays season?

PS4 is selling really good so i suppose will depend on what the competition does and Sony can take this movement as a response..

There was (and still is) an Xbox One with Kinect and without Kinect. What made you think otherwise? Anyways, they are now (and you can look) each $50 cheaper due the $50 price cut each one received. When the Xbox One began shipping without Kinect it was introduced at a $399 while the Xbox One with Kinect was still retailing for $499. That's not a price cut, lol, that's a price introduction for a new model. Inventory 101.

But they didn't intriduce a new model, right? It was still the exact same model of XBox made $100 cheaper by removing one unnecessary part of it to make it easier to absorb a price cut. Then.they had to cut anither $50 because it was still too expensive for it to sell. Judging by current sales, XOne is not worth $349 to the customers either, unlike a $399 PS4 that is still valuable, judging by the sales disparity.

So for Phil to invite a PS4 price drop is rather silly (or in this case very calculated) when all sales data point to XOne needing another price cut to be able to compete.

They did introduce a new model and when they did introduce that new model, the older model was still $499 which isn't a price cut, lol. How many ways can someone describe this?
