I mean seriously Nintendo just give this people a budget and a devkit, they'll make such an amazing 3D DK for your platform

Based on what I have read, and heard about the devs, as well as their previous history, it seems pretty lear that they would like to stay independant and create their own gaming franchise that revolve around the characters they make in this game, as well as stay close to devs both at Rare and Retro. I'm very sure they woant to work closely with them, but only desire to create games and IPs they have freedom and control over

People have horrible taste if they think DK64 was a good game.

But yeah, we need a 3D DK platformer, but it will never happen. I'm not even sure if we'll see any real DK games next gen.

Or maybe you should stop trying to force your taste and opinions on others hmm? DK64 was and still is a good game.

It would get slaughtered by critics if it came out today.

People shouldn't be blinded by their nostalgia. Modern day platformers are much much better.

So would Ocarina of Time, or Mario 64. You're just stating a fact  that older games are not technically as good as newer ones. DK64's big flaw is that the tech could barely handle the game. The draw distance was poor, the minigames didn't work properly in some cases (almost exclusively Beaver Bother), the frame rate dipped constantly, etc. Remove those, as you would were you to make it modern, and you get a technically-sound game that has the same ability to make people want to complete it. And guess what? That's what reviewers want. Something that they want to keep playing.

Say what you will about the game, but the fact that people come in today, pick it up, and love it sort of says that you're wrong about nostalgia goggles being the main reason it's relevant anymore. Not to mention that a nostalgia goggles comment from somebody who specifically comments on other subforum posts to trash them because they're not Nintendo is sort of humorous, but that's neither here nor there.

You should check out my YouTube channel, The Golden Bolt!  I review all types of video games, both classic and modern, and I also give short flyover reviews of the free games each month on PlayStation Plus to tell you if they're worth downloading.  After all, the games may be free, but your time is valuable!

Donkey Kong Warriors United.

Make it happen.

My bet with The_Liquid_Laser: I think the Switch won't surpass the PS2 as the best selling system of all time. If it does, I'll play a game of a list that The_Liquid_Laser will provide, I will have to play it for 50 hours or complete it, whatever comes first.

I'd love an exploration orientated 3d platformer and dk would be great fronting it. Not as much of a collectothon as dk64 more of a mario 64/sunshine with refined platforming and the same open level structure with multiple collectables.

And where did I do that?

DK64 was a bad game, get over it. Way too much obnoxious collecting, annoying minigames that barely work, unfocused, barely any platforming, etc.

Most people who play it today don't even like it.

No dk isnt as important

Yes. Hopefully nothing like the shitty DK64 though.

I'd play the series again, if it did. But nothing like the DK64's fetch BS. A normal game with normal unlocks. Not Metroid 5x backtracking.

definitely. they need to make like a DKC type game, except in full 3D. that would be absolutely amazing. keep it centered on the platforming, but with some new gameplay mechanics that we havent seen before. i really think they could do something cool with this.
