Anyone that thinks the user scores are more reliable than the critic scores are actually kidding themselves.
I bet the Wii U would sell more than 15M LTD by the end of 2015. He bet it would sell less. I lost.

However, people who buy the game generally know what they're getting themselves into. While journalistic reviews often end up with people who don't like a genre reviewing it against incredibly mainstream accessible gaming. This is pretty much why I don't like stuff like Meta. It gives the fanboys ammunition to decide what is and isn't a good game. However, really, the opinions that count, are those of people who enjoy particular genres. Would you ask a baker to review a BBQ? It's the reason so many great niche games get such mediocre ratings, yet are highly revered amongst peers. |
You have a point there. I read the review to see how honest it is.

uhh its rated M, lke i care, i wanted a game thats so brutal and full of gore that some stupid people want to ban it.
and the game has the same problem as Duke Nukem Forever thats right, both are way to toned down because they wanted them to sell way above the bonderies of it normal market, and now nobody is realy happy with the game.
I'm a quite surprised that many EU players complaining about Devil's Third difficulty. The game is challenging, but fair to player's actions. It has some trolling sections like bats encounters, but it adding even more charm to the game.

It might seem questionable to you, but for someone like me, a person who can appreciate a developer's vision, it's an accurate representation of what Valhalla has been going for. Devil's Third is a piece of art that is critical of the current state of the video game industry where cynical suits dump unfinished products on the market and hope that uneducated consumers purchase the game before everyone realizes how bad the product is. Devil's Third strived to be a reflection of the reality we live in, and it did a damn fine job at it. Its gameplay sections are so well executed and consistent with the game's overall quality that not allowing it its quirks would be to completely miss the point. Personally, I think it harkens back to Metal Gear Solid in terms of pacing, to Killzone 2 for its gunplay theatricality, and to Vanquish for its replayability. |

I think 3.5 is harsh.. they must put a lot of weight in the visual because there it's a real stinker. But honestly, I think it is fun both in single and particularly multiplayer.

because i wanted a hard M or A rated wiiu game?
The multiplayer is fantastic, seriously! From a technical perspective Devils Third sucks, but the fun and entertainment factor is a pure winner. For me fun and enjoyment is what makes a good game, Im able to gloss over technical issues as long as the game is playable and not broken. I would love 60fps in every game, but that isnt always going to be the case.
