I wasn't talking about content only though. ;)
Take Xeodrifter for example, a bland, generic and short Metroid knock-off and it still has 80% on metacritic. It's much cheaper and better to just buy a Metroid game on the Wii U VC.

Xeodrifter is a 75 on Metacritic...Axiom Verge would have been a better example, which is also very Metroid-esque. But Axiom Verge is actually really good.
Bet with Adamblaziken:
I bet that on launch the Nintendo Switch will have no built in in-game voice chat. He bets that it will. The winner gets six months of avatar control over the other user.

Are Nintendo fans always so on edge? Ok let me rectifiy this before this gets out of hand: i wasn't saying anything bad about Nintendo. Your need to defend Nintendo here for making games for 2 platforms is just unncessary. The TC was talking about PS4 and X1. I was merely making the point that there were more games coming to the PS4 than the X1. I added Nintendo merely as a point of reference to counter the TC's point that Sony was on the losing side of exclusive games. My point was that this is not the case. If you think I was slandering Nintendo or something then please just chill out and realise I wasn't. It was a point of reference, and that only. And I am sure other ppl recognised this. The usage of 'exclusive' has grown and become more dynamic over the years. You have a specific device exclusive, like Halo 5. You have console maker exclusive like Persona 5 as it only appears on PS devices but not on a single device. You have console exclusives where the game appears on a specified console but also appears on other non-console devices (mainly PC) like Talos Principle. You get generation specific exclusives where ppl talk about a game in relation to other devices only of that generation. This is how we all talk about exclusives. This topic is about the PS4 and X1. We are talking only about those 2 parameters. A game that only appears on the PS4 and not the X1 makes it a PS4 exclusive in this regard because those 2 consoles are the only defining factors we are using to guage games in this topic.
BUT
since this offends you, let me rephrase this. PS4 has more exclusive games than X1 coming from Oct - Dec (and had more from the beginning of this year so far). X1 has Halo 5. PS4 has Disgaea 5, Dragon Quest Heroes, and Shadow of the Beast and Tomorrow Children (both dated for this year). Even if we dont include the last 2 games there are still more PS4 only games coming than X1. So ultimately, my point still stands. and your UC to XB comparison is pretty lol-worthy: as if graphics are the only thing that makes UCC different from the original PS3 games. |
You were talking about companies and their exclusives not consoles.
And no the definition of exclusives has not changed, maybe to some Sony fans.
So it's not allowed for xbone games to run on Windows 10 (you know, the OS MS owns), or be Windows exclusives (xbone runs on Windows), but PS exclusives do count? Dragon Quest Heroes is on the PS3. And let's not pretend this is anything more than a musou game. Shadow of the Beast has no release date and is a reboot to a sub-par/terrible game. Shadow of the Beast and Tomorrow Children are only PSN titles anyway, and you're going to compare that to Halo 5?
So tell me, why does Dragon Quest Heroes count, but Tomb Raider doesn't?
You can spin however you want, but the xbone has 3 big games coming up for the rest of the year while the PS4 has zero.
As for the changes in UCC, taking out the multiplayer of UC 2 & 3 isn't a good thing you know. That photo mode they're adding must be quite something...

Funny how Halo:MCC counted last fall, but UCC doesn't this year?

Halo: MCC includes a never before done remake of Halo 2.
I never said UCC didn't count, but it's nothing more than a collection of already released games. Not comparable to Halo 5, Tomb Raider or Forza 6. It's better than Gears of War: R, cause you know, 3 games, but that's about it.
As for Wii U it has Super Mario Maker, Star Fox Zero, Fatal Frame V and Xenoblade Chronicles X.
Not that this whole discussion matters really, third party games are more important than exclusives when it comes to selling consoles and the PS4 has more than enough of those for the rest of the year (as does xbone). Brag about that if you want, but if you're going to call their exclusive line-up for the rest of the year the best I'm going to disagree with you on every step of the way.
Honestly, I think Sony's approach of not having their own blockbuster exclusives for this holiday was a brilliant move, at least from a business perspective. There's just so many massive games coming out this holiday from Fallout 4 to BO3 to SWBF to Need For Speed, etc., that it was just the smarter move to get marketing deals with those games. This way they can ensure that more people will be playing those games on their system, while not having to worry about turning a profit on their own title. Let's be honest for a sec. A game like Halo is a guaranteed top seller, but games like Forza 6 and Tomb Raider are going to get slaughtered. Hell, with CoD and SWBF, even Halo may have some trouble selling as well as it has in the past.
As for Sony's AAA lineup for 2016, I'm really digging their schedule so far. It's looking like some pretty solid coming this way for PS4 owners.
Perhaps Sony has chosen to pull back a little on the reins in order to give its third-party developers an extended chance to shine on the PS4.
This excuse was widely accepted on another system before. ;)

Let me rephrase your "solid" arguments:
TheOrder, Bloodborne, Until Dawn
Halo Halo Halo
Everybodys gone to the Rapture, Drawn to Death, Disgeae 5
Halo Halo Halo
Fat Princess, Alienation, Kill Strain
Halo Halo Halo
Shadow of the Beast, Tomorrow Children
Halo Halo Halo
Hunting Season is done...

DQH is PS4 only in the west.
Why do big games only count as exclusives to you? It seems that is your own spin you are putting on things. I hope you don't count Fatal Frame as an exclusive on Wii U, given that is most certainly not big itself.
