Yes it will. The fans of Final Fantasy haven't seen a real main line FF game in years and years. I wouldn't be shocked if many of the fans of the series quit consoles altogether. I would be surprised if FFXV surpasses 1.25m. Maybe 1.5 tops in the lifetime of the console.

It has a chance ( which is an impressive accomplishment ) but I'm going to say no. Maybe in the future if Nintendo decided to expand Splatoon franchise.

FFXV on the other hand will surely be front loaded, which means the revenue will be huge as usual selling that amount of copies at full price. XV has a potential to expand the fanbase as well. It is introducing new ideas and making a big changes from previous games in the franchise. Maybe that freshness will help to break the usual trend.

Yeah japanese devolopers need another example to keep making lower budget games like they dont make enough allready? Splatoon is 2GB in size vs FFXVs ~40+ GB, thats all there is to say. And yes Nintendo are the smartest people on this planet because you buy and many others buy it over FF15 for the same price

Who cares about the sales of past FF games from even the PS2 era?  Things are totally different now.  Even FF13 will be 7 years in the past by the time FF15 comes out.  FF13 was the worst selling FF (non MMO) in Japan, and things haven't exactly gotten better.  Sales of the PS3 and PS4 are far worse than the PS1/PS2.  Every FF in Japan has sold worse than the last since FF8 (again non MMO).  That's a testament to the decline for demographic reasons and people are just moving to handhelds/cell phones for gaming.

 

You Know that Final Fantasy VIII, is the Best Selling Final Fantasy on Japan ? you are Comparing the Best Selling game that Out-sold Final Fantasy 1-2-3-4-5-6-7-9-10-11-12-13-14, to say that the Franchise is Dying ? Street Fighter IV, is what ?, if you take just the Playstation 3 Numbers, he is the Second Best Selling game for the Street Fighter Franchise, so Why did you think that Final Fantasy 15, cannot do this ? did you Saw the Sales of Monster Hunter ?, now Final Fantasy XV, is More Monster-Hunter like with a Better History, Enviroment, Characters, and is the Most Anticipated Video game for Home Consoles in Japan, there is no other game for the Consoles that is so Awaited, My Predictions are 3+ Millions of Life Time Sales for Final Fantasy XV, on Japan.

Im not underestimating FF I think it'll do around 2mil-2.4mil lifetime and Splatoon will do Imo at least 1.7mil (which seems to make it 2n& highest selling game this gen on consoles. 

 

That said splatoon hasn't been out for a year and you realize it has the best legs this gen excluding AC and maybe YW1? You underestimate splatoon,  that it's not the same as it was before. There is a reason why predictions for FF are all over the place,  because we don't know exactly what it can do
