Forums - Sony Discussion - Sony says it’s ‘very likely’ more remasters are coming

I'd love to see Siren get the remaster treatment, as long as they did away with all that episodic nonsense. Warhawk would probably do very well too.

Siren was my favorite horror theme last gen game. Hope it gets a sequal.

Its common knowledge that Sony would lead in new IP ( which is why at E3 everyone expects them to be the focal show). The problem is their first two years are always the worst and to hear that they are making more remasters is annoying to say the very least. I misworded that, so I apologize but this should suffice.

Sony's third year doesn't look too much better. Uncharted 4, SF5, and maybe TLG and Horizon.

So 2 big AAA new IP? That's really good for a 1st party exclusive line up.

What do you expect, 20 brand new AAA exclusive games per year or something?

Well considering ps4 AAA exclusive has been lack luster thus far.

Thats all you know right now. Rumor has it that Sony Santa Monica has been secretly working on God of War. This is possibly the reason why the remaster of 3 came out.

Sony set the bar so high for IP development that people have unrealistic expectations even when they told them there would be fewer IP's this gen. Heh The problem is Sony owners got spoiled and they've been spoiled since the PS1.

Please, god of war 4 (or w/e is called) will more than likely not come out the same year it is announced.

Perhaps, but wasn't God of War  3 unveiled at E3 a year before it dropped? Also, Nathan Drakes voice actor spilled the beans on the Last of Us 2 being in development so thats two more chart toppers on their way.

True, those games expected, but if memory serves me correctly God of war 3 was announced at VGA.

Well so far for AAA 1st party new IP I make it

2012 Nintendo: 0
2013 Microsoft: 0  Nintendo: 1  Sony: 1
2014 Microsoft: 0 Nintendo: 2  Sony: 1
2015 Microsoft: 0 Nintendo: 1  Sony: 2
Total Microsoft: 0 Nintendo: 4 Sony: 4

Considering that includes spin offs for Nintendo (Hyrule Warriors + Captain Toad) while all of Sony's were completely new IP, I'd say they are still setting the bar pretty high.

Nah....Remember when I told you Sony takes two years to get their first and second party to truly start up? By 2019 you'll start to notice the disparity IP's , especially since they are winning now. Devs will be more open to making games for them exclusively if their share of the market is particularly dominant.

I'm perfectly fine with this as long as they're fairly priced. The GOW 3 remaster was definitely overpriced.

As long as we see some of them on PS Vita I am happy! :)
