Forums - Sony Discussion - Sony says it’s ‘very likely’ more remasters are coming

Sigh. This is getting pathetic really fast. I can't believe people actually support this.

If people weren't willing to put up with this crap, consoles nowadays would still have a thing called backwards compatibility.

I own my PS3 and still play time and time again. Yet i would love to play certain games again with better performance and trophies.

What a joke

Shenmue 1 and 2 remaster confirmed?

CPU: Ryzen 7950X
GPU: MSI 4090 SUPRIM X 24G
Motherboard: MSI MEG X670E GODLIKE
RAM: CORSAIR DOMINATOR PLATINUM 32GB DDR5
SSD: Kingston FURY Renegade 4TB
Gaming Console: PLAYSTATION 5

There were a lot of Wii and 360 owners last gen. I get it, but focus on something when you have a "AAA" lineup you should be more proactive in other ways.

People used to praise Sony on how they handled remasters. I think what turns people off is shit like God of War III. A single PS3 game basically untouched for $40. A far cry from a good value.

The Uncharted Collection is an example of how remasters should be done and not feeling like a cash grab.

I still have/use my PS3. If it's game i don't currently own, I'd chose the remaster over the original even it cost more. I'd rather play smoother running better looking version of the game.  Assuming it's a game that could benefit from a remaster. Not all great last-gen games need them.

Sony is still on top of the exclusive department in quantity and quality (fact),

Oh boy... when it comes to exclusives at the moment PS4 is the console I want.

Lets just say that comment is subjective.

I think what he meant to say was over the course of time. The PS3 had beaten the Nintendo and Xbox 360 by 2011 according to a Gamespot study that said Sony invests more heavily in new first party IP. The problem with his post is that he didnt state that it took then five years to get there after launching in 2006 to a console that had been out a year earlier and the other respective to them in the same year.
