I don't care what system it ends up on, if it doesn't make 2016... ugh....

It would be kind of pointless to put this game on the Wii U. It needs to be their NX gen system seller. What would releasing it on the Wii U accomplish? It would only give hardcore Nintendo fans a reason to delay upgrading, which is the last thing Nintendo wants.

I'll say again what I said before the Wii U was released: they have to come out strong if they want to win any mind-share away from the flood of games that release on Playstation and Xbox systems. They have to launch a Pearl Harbor and attack with all they have, even if it means a drought in their second year. Securing consumer confidence right away is vital.

Current Wii U owners, please understand.

The problem with Nintendo fans is damn if you do and damn if you don't.

No Nintendo fan wants Nintendo to go 3rd party yet releasing Zelda on Wii U may just accomplish that if NX doesn't take of in sales.

They can't grasp the concept that a better launch for NX means a better future for Nintendo.

Wii U already has enough games to justify your purchase. Releasing a zelda game on a dead system is kind of pointless as it won't achieve anything for Nintendo.

This is not good at all.... This is Gamecube all over again... At least the Gamecube enjoyed a higher quantity and variety of titles...

LOL this is worst that the gamecube all over again. Gamecube looks like a fricken masterpiece of a system game wise compared to wii u.

The NX will have it then. That's at least my guess.

calling wii u a dead system, saying it would be right to not release zelda on it... so many crazy things on your post.

I actually love the Gamecube. It got a real 3D Mario, it got TWO Zelda games, 3 Metroids, a killer F-Zero, Resident Evil remake exclusive(up until recently), mature exclusives like Eternal Darkness, etc.

It's not a Wii U game anymore guys, give it up.

If it wasn't, they'd have removed it from the "Wii U" lineup entirely.

Seriously, it was "TBD" in their previous "upcoming games" listing in April/May. And it's listed like that because they haven't announced the date, they're not even willing to officially say it won't make it in 2015. Instead, what they've said is that they're "no longer making a 2015 release our number one priority". Of course, we all know that it's not going to make it in 2015 - even if Nintendo *could* get it done in time, they'll delay it now anyway, and just add some extra content instead, since the 2015 deadline has already been removed.

Just to demonstrate the "not officially confirmed to not be making it out in 2015", here's what Reggie said about it in June: "And at this point, the new Zelda for Wii U is not a 2015 project." - the "at this point" stands out in that statement. They don't want to say absolutely that it won't be out in 2015.

And if they can even remotely entertain the idea that it could release in 2015, still, then it's still coming to the Wii U.

They put 'TBD' behind it the moment Aonuma announced the delay, it's been this way for months already in multiple financial reports. It's funny how every outlet only now notices this, shows how much they're paying attention.

Anyway nobody should expect this game before holiday (november) 2016.

*citation needed* The delay was only announced back in late March (literally the end of March), so your multiple financial reports should be interesting to see.

Yes, technically it was "2015" in the three financial reports between these two, but this is multiple financial reports in which it was listed as TBD, including the most recent one prior to the one we're discussing now.
