A full year is quite massive. Not comparable to what Sony did once to the franchise but still a lot.

Out of interest, what are you referring to here?

The deal Sony made 1997 with CD to lock Tomb Raider out of other consoles.

"In September 1997, Sony Computer Entertainment America signed a deal with Eidos to make console releases for the Tomb Raider franchise exclusive to the PlayStation, preventing the Sega Saturn or the Nintendo 64 from having any Tomb Raider game released for it until 2000"

Oh wow, thanks.  I didn't know they'd made an actual deal like that!

I know it because I had a Saturn back then ;) But no problem, you're welcome.

Edit: It's surprising to see how many today don't know the deal :)

Just goes to show how unhappy SE is that they made that deal in the first place.

They probably blabbed out the news the first moment they were contractually allowed to, just to appease the millions of PS4 owners they could have sold to otherwise.

“It appeared that there had even been demonstrations to thank Big Brother for raising the chocolate ration to twenty grams a week. And only yesterday, he reflected, it had been announced that the ration was to be reduced to twenty grams a week. Was it possible that they could swallow that, after only twenty-four hours? Yes, they swallowed it.”

So... what happened to all those people saying 4-6 months?

They got the time wrong. What's your point? They guessed, not exactly like they had a copy of the contract is it?

Someone seems a little upset, were you one of the ones that said 4-6 months?

I just want to make fun, seriously. The wars are in full engage mode everywhere. Terms like "salty" "eat crow soon!", all this stuff when people are happy that others are angry. We are talking about games here and that is, in the end, something we do in our spare time to have fun.

Now it's happening that PS4 is winning and will continue to do so which makes people think they also "win" and have a certain attitude against other users who chose the "wrong" console for being also "wrong" by default, no matter what they say. Are there still good and bad users on both sides? Definitely! But we have to see that there is a certain inbalance in discussions on GAF and here.

Let's take the 1080p-threads as of late. These threads are full of people talking about 1080pr and all the stuff but almost no one from the "other" side is able to say "good for xbone. I am glad they get better resolution in the end". No, of course not. We see comments about how bad MS is, how desperate they are, how weak the hardware is and these posts are way more in a thread where most people don't even own the console where the game is going to be released. And I guess this side can easily cope with a post like mine ;)

The console war. Its a vicious cycle.

Good for pop corn though, especially if you want to lose your mind and feel less pain after work. lol!

Its safer than drugs. xD

4-6 months could still be right given the PC release. But on the PS4 SE would probably not want to release this anywhere near to Uncharted 4.

I don't think I ever 'guessed'. I don't really care, don't like Tomb Raider. I'm trying to point out you seem a little happy people got it wrong.

Hmm, pie.

Well that seems like a pointless deal to make in retrospective...
