Maybe that's your problem right there. You're supposed to learn the bosse's attacks and attack patterns, to react to and punish them. You don't have to get hit.

As for your generalization of Japanese games, I don't know what to say.

Yes but you still end up mashing buttons. If you played this game, please don't tell me you enjoyed the last boss where you are one against some twenty before you even get to the boss. Combos and special moves don't work when five thugs are hitting you from all angles and the boss shooting at you in the process doesn't help either.

So you also hate the Arkham games?

Check the link below. (note to Admins: it's not really porn please don't ban me!)

Arkham combat on easy and normal is too easy, on hard it is too hard.

Deus Ex (2000) - a game that pushes the boundaries of what the video game medium is capable of to a degree unmatched to this very day.

When someone generalises something, it's either that he's ignorant and relies on generalised assumptions to make his point, or that he's choosing to ignore a certain point in his argument that could turn the tables on him.Tell you what if you can show me that you played every Japanese game in existence I will agree with you.

Generalizing is never a good thing.

The only time I considered a game unfair was in Final Fantasy Tactics when you fight against Velius. The fight is spread in two sections and the game allows you to save between those two fights but if you do you're forced to win the next battle because there's no backing out at that point. It almost ruined my save file the first time I played because that last fight is a bitch and I couldn't leave and level up. I eventually won the fight after many tries, countless adjustments to my team and some luck.

Oh God, I'm having flashbacks now. Fuck that fight. Fuck that fight and the horse it rode in on.

And then they follow it up with a fight where you can lose before you get a turn. Thanks Rafa...

I think you are generalising. I don't see how you can say this is something that only happens in japanese games.

There no such thing as unfair japanese games. Japanese games only seem unfair or overly difficult to people who don't learn from their mistakes. Western games always hold your hands to the finish line.

This, this is the main problem here.

Well, you shouldn't really generalize all Japanese games because of this one game..

but yes, it is really annoying when you have to do stuff like this.
