I don't know what to think about Microsoft. Nowadays, some fans will say "they've corrected their errors. How can you still hate them for what they did in 2013"? You wanna know why? Because they habitually try and screw us over. Don't try and pull the wool over our eye and tell us to "forget" about their mistakes because they "fixed" them now. Because, they're 3 for 3 in screwing the consumer and then asking for forgiveness afterwards. They abandoned the original Xbox after only 4 years and screwed those owners. They rushed the 360 to the market, with it's 68% fail rate, and knew proper R&D wasn't done, just to get a jump for marketshare advantages. Then denied that it was a problem for years. And then they wanted to force DRM on us, and then forced us to deal with Kinect (saying it's "integral" to XBOne). Yea, they addressed the RROD fiasco and they addressed the DRM/Kinect fiasco, so you can tell me to "stop being bitter" because they've corrected their mistakes, but they wouldn't need to fix anything if they would just do their due diligence in delivering us a console. Boning us (3 times in a row), then saying sorry, and being told be fans to "get over it"........
So, after this long rant, for MS, what can they do to lose my respect? Nothing. Can't lose what you never had.
As far as Nintendo, they lost my respect a long time ago, after going from the leading console maker, to being ones stuck in the dark ages. They refused to move from catridges to discs for the longest time (which burned them from 1995 - 2001), and they still don't have a DVD player in their consoles, opting to instead to use a proprietary media. Also, they continue to alienate 3rd parties while still focusing on Mario and Zelda. So, essentially, ignoring new franchises and sticking to the old ones. MS gets made fun of for "only having Halo, Fable, Gears, Forza". Something similar can be said about Nintendo. Not to mention, they still believe online gameplay isn't a big deal? Wtf?!
How could Sony lose my respect? Well, they have, as well. First off, mandating PS+ was wack, but I understand online features aren't free. But, to try and quell the disapproval of that requirement for online multiplayer with the addage of "free games" and then the free games are 99% small indie titles? Don't get me wrong, I like indie games, but the PS4 is approaching it's 2nd full year on the market. I can't even get Knack or Killzone? They don't even sell those games new anymore, at retail, so they can't possibly obtain anymore sales from them. Only "AAA" games we've gotten are an expansion (First Light) and MGS: Light (Ground Zeroes). Great games in their own regard, but still. Not to mention, since the launch of PS4, you've taken that PS4 "free games" mentality and stuck it to the PS3. Before we were getting Vanquish, Bioshock, DMC, Tomb Raider, Dead Space, Uncharted, etc.....now it's more indies, even though the PS3 has hundreds of retail games. Don't make me have to pay for multiplayer and then undercut the feature that made it popular when it wasn't mandated. That's bullshit.
Long story short, MS never had my respect, Nintendo lost mine a long time ago, and Sony recently lost it.
