Lie, backtrack or do something obviously anticonsumer. Why I lost any respect for Microsoft in 2013, but they've gained most of it back.

When you are wrong, you should admit it and learn from it.  Not keep doing the wrong thing.

I agree... IF that's what you want to do. No one should ever dicate the choices you make in your life. The Wind Waker is a great example. I hated the style at the time, and to this day, still think it shoud have been the Spaceworld 2000 demo style instead. But you know what? Nintendo did what they felt was best, and to me, that's admirable.

It's tough to stand on your own and not let people influence your life choices. Those that stand strong, they have my respect.

I lost respect for Microsoft the moment they revealed all of the Xbone details. Sony is alright for now, Nintendo...as long as they continue to localize games and stop treating other territories differently then they are okay. Forcing digital by any company is a serious blow and will lose respect instantly.

I don't "respect" the companies, only thing I do have some source of respect... Is for Nintendo's denial to lay off employees, they'd rather have their higher UPS get a salary cut, and allow their employees to keep their jobs. That's admirable.

I do TRUST all of their gaming hardware (all three of them), I've never been screw over by the RROD or anything like that. And Nintendo's hardware are pure quality that won't get messed up unless you REALLY want them to.

Oh, and Captain Toad is such a gem. Two fungus with NO powers whatsoever, they can't jump or run fast... Yet, they accomplish amazing things in that game. There's no blood, profanity, serious violence, real world guns, etc. Just a Toad solving puzzles (and beating up a few baddies here and there). That's beautiful.

Long story short, I like them all. I may dislike Sony's first party games (only exception is Twisted Metal), Microsoft's constant generalizing of their audiences, and how Nintendo seems to do things that they know will enrage their gamers on purpose... But I like their consoles and will keep supporting until they go "full digital".

Cancel Zelda

The little respect I had for Microsoft if they made a Halo game without split screen... oh wait.

Check the link below. (note to Admins: it's not really porn please don't ban me!)

Microsoft: Lost my respect when I saw three / four empty Xbox 360 cases in my friends home in 2008. He kept buying because of RROD. Later I fotgot this incident only to be bitter with Xbox One DRM.
Nintendo: Loved them when I was a kid. Same mario and other over and over again made me bored. Became PC gamer later.
Sony: Poor first party support throughout 2014. 2015 is also same. I hope they can recover in 2016.

Microsofts entire tv tv drm unveiling is how they lost mine. They are doing a good job trying to win it back though.

That's fine and all but with the exception of Four Swords Adventures, they quietly shifted games with that art style to portables.  WWHD is the only game since that we've seen with that style on home consoles.  That artstyle has it's fans but I think they know people want more realism(not a lack of color, however) in their Zelda.
