Nintendo: If they decide mobile is a million times cheaper and more profitable and only nominally support their dedicated hardware platforms with mediocre budget titles (meaning their dedicated hardware platforms are in a perpetual post-2010 Wii-era drought.); if they decide to abuse DLC and Amiibo exclusive functionality because it's cheap and effective; or if the next Nintendo console or handheld still has a resistive touch screen.

Microsoft: If they only focus on Gears, Halo, and Forza so much that they don't give the proper time and budget to less prominent projects like Quantum Break, ReCore, and Sea of Thieves; if they focus so much on trying to undercut the price of the PS4 that they have no money to spend on game development; or if decide that the only way they can win is by appealing to the lowest common denominator and focus on sports and military shooters.

Sony: If they focus so much on video game streaming that they don't make a physical PS5; if they encourage their development studios to stop making new IPs because they are more profitable; if Sony doesn't put PS classics on PS4 within the next year; or if they don't make active efforts to get PSN faster and more stable within the next few years now that they have increased income from mandatory PS+ for multiplayer.
