No, the problem is they are in absolutely no situation to be jabbing anyone.

"As it stands, however, those hoping for a new Wii U release will not see Metroid Prime hitting Nintendo’s current home console. In an interview with Eurogamer, Metroid Prime series producer Kensuke Tanabe revealed that there will be no home console Metroid Prime games until Nintendo’s NX at the earliest."
cant find the other quoutes, but basically right now no new "real" prime is in developement, so even if they start it now, it ll first be ready 3years or more from now, which would mean it would be on the next console.
If your lucky and nintendo feel like trying to makeing you happy, sometime in 2018 you can play Metroid prime again.

Where is the sleight? |
You've said this multiple times now. Are you trying to be dense or do you honestly not see it? People have explained it to you in previous posts and the mere fact that you keep on asking where the jab is makes me wonder if you have some sort of ulterior motive. The jab is there and it's fairly obvious.
I bet the Wii U would sell more than 15M LTD by the end of 2015. He bet it would sell less. I lost.
So, basically, Reggie just announced Metroid and that it's a few years away from release while saying that Nintendo doesn't announce games that are a few years away from release.
That's really what he's saying there, except it's not an official announcement, so it's okay.

They should of been working on it before the wii u launched. He knows that they show every game years before it's released. He basically saying "We know you guys want a straight metroid game but we don't have it.".

Everyone here is saying this means theres a new real metroid in developement... but producer Kensuke Tanabe, makes it sound like that is not true. They would first need to start working on a title, and even then it would be atleast 3years in the makeing (so it would be not ready by the time the NX console launches).
| KLAMarine said: So there's been a recent quote attributed to Reggie Fils-Aime which goes as follows: "Look, we know that the fans want a straight Samus Aran game. We also know that the best way to launch a game like that is to surprise and delight them, to give them a launch date, in an environment like this let them play it vs. what other companies do which is to announce a project that you may not see for five, six years. It’s just not the way we do things. We know the community wants to see a straight-up Metroid game. We know it." The vgchartz article containing this quote then proceeded to explode in controversy. As of this post, this article has engendered 41 posts. What I don't understand is why. Anyone care to elaborate? |
Other than this e3, Nintendo USUALLY touts gaes that are years away- so to say they don t is a straight up lie that he knows can eaily be disproven in this day and age of the interwebs- They tout games years out when it works for them, when they don t have much coming up soon- the only reason they did not talk about games 9+ months to several years in the future is due to the fact most of those games will be for a console(s) they have not announced yet
| Soundwave said: They'll make one for the NX. Wasting one on Wii U that'll maybe sell 600,000 copies simply isn't worth Nintendo giving a studio a big HD budget to make a Metroid adventure game with. I'm sorry that Wii U owners want the sun, earth, moon, and stars for their console, but it's selling like crap. Many companies would've ditched it already. Be happy with what you're getting (which is honestly a pretty damn good fall lineup in Mario Maker, Xenoblade X, Star Fox Zero, Fatal Frame, and Mario Tennis) and stop complaining about what you're not getting. There are limits to what Nintendo can do for a system that has this low of a userbase. Also expect Wii U games greenlit later on like Animal Crossing Amiibo Party and Star Fox Zero to have lower budgets. Nintendo isn't going to break the bank with some super expensive HD games just so a very small userbase can (most of whom really will end up buying the next Nintendo console anyway when they see the next Mario/Zelda/Metroid/Splatoon/Mario Kart for it) be a little happier. |
Naturally, why would Nintendo want to please their 9.7+/- miilion best customers that bought into thierr worst selling home console ever- that would be terrible business. Of course the Wii u is selling very poorly becasue of those good customers- not because Nintendo did a terrible job executing
I know that i personally went to game stores in my area and physically stopped others from buying thev wii u just after i purchased my own
Additionally, none of the Wii u purchasers understood it either - its hard to buy games when most of us were trying to make snow cones with it

They haven't even started development on a new Metroid, according to a post-E3 interview with Tanabe. |
Tanabe said the next Metroid PRIME hasn't started development. Even the title of the article says this.
Prime is just a subseries of Metroid.
